I read this book and really enjoyed it. I've always had a fascination with medieval England, and I already knew which king was which and the basics of what made them famous or infamous, but this was a very good refresher course. Thanks for the review!

That's a lot less charitable description of Edward I than most I'm familiar with. The description of "increasing hostility between england wales and scotland for centuries to come" makes me suspect this historian may be one of many who likes to impose what we might call a chomskian narrative of history onto past centuries in which it is even less realistic than it is now.
