The cover art is amazing. It looks like something from the 50s or earlier.

That cover is typical Baen. I don't even mind them at this point, once you take them for granted, they do signal the typical content that Baen's main writers like Flint, Weber, Stirling, etc. are known for, shlocky sci-fi aesthetics and shlocky romance. (Even if most of them also end up having more than meets the eye.)

This one sounds less-so.
