Have you read Neptune's Brood yet?

The very human-like behavior of the androids was intentionally programmed in when they were created. Makes sense on many levels. First, if you are trying to create an intelligent life form from scratch, the easiest path is to copy the only model around. Second, if the android is close enough to human, you can avoid the uncanny valley. Third, installing a human value system is an alternative to Asimov's Three Laws.

I am reading Neptune's Brood next. I wanted to read its predecessor before I read the Hugo nominee.
