For the love of Marilyn.....

As of late, I've been into my music. Well, to be honest.......a ton of Marilyn Manson. I've been a fan since I was 12 years old. Way back in 1998( now I feel old..:-| ), I got my first dosage of Marilyn Manson by seeing the "The Dope Show". Twelve year old me thought it was one of the coolest videos I've ever seen at the time. I also think cause of "The Dope Show" video that I kinda developed a major crush on Marilyn Manson that I kept ultra secret for 13 years. The world now knows..... Don't judge me.:-|

I mentioned a picked up "Smells like Children" a bit back. "Smells like Children" is my favorite Manson album even it's the most uneven album I've ever heard. That unevenness is what gives " Smells like Children" it's charm for me. It also features on of my most favorite songs "Kiddie Grinder" which is a remix of "Organ Grinder" off "Portrait of an American Family".
Since I'm a huge Manson fan, I must like all of his albums right. Not really, I hated " Eat Me,Drink me" especially the song "Heart Shaped Glasses". I just didn't care for it. Could say, I'm a major fan of Marilyn Manson's early stuff to Age of Grotesque. I can't dig into his newer stuff except for the "High End of Low" which I haven't heard yet to make an opinion.

*image found on Google. From the Holy Wood era. My second favorite. :)

Marilyn Manson has gone through alot of alter egos but my favorite is Omega from the Mechanical Animals era. I don't know why but maybe a) that is my first sight of Manson so it's nostalgic or b) I really like aliens. Omega is the sole reason for my still uber crush on Marilyn to this day. I do wish that Manson revisit Omega but I doubt that will happen any at all. Speaking of Mechanical Animals, even at 12, I didn't get what was so bad about that cover. I figure " It's an alien and maybe that don't have genders on their planet. The alien can't help it if has female parts". " Holy Wood"'s album cover I can totally see as conversational but Mechanical Animals? Then again, it was 1998. The last era I'm interested in is Holy Wood. After that, all the misguided stuff began in my opinion to happen to Marilyn Manson. I like to remember the good times and at his best. :)

Ironically, I have Billy Ocean's "Lover Boy" stuck in my head while I drool at Omega's picture here......
