Everyone seems to be updating, which makes me pretty darn happy. I love to read updates. Well, interesting ones at least. Some people are just crap writers, and you can't help that.
No clue where I was going with that one.
I suppose I could talk about the times. Times are good, all in all. I think that when you look back over enough history things can never truly be 'bad'. Maybe rough, yet eventually the good things prevail. I know that there are people who disagree with me, and could name them myself. Yet it's all about how you look at life. Life is simply what you make of it. It's only going to be crap if you only see the crap things that are in it. Granted there are people who have had much harder lives than I have. Yet there are always beautiful things to see in the world. Bunny rabbits, mashed potatoes, sunshine, and flying squirrels are just a few of them. If you combine them you achieve a completely abstract form. Happiness in the raw. You can't really picture it, yet it posseses moments and people.
Have you ever looked at someone and been completely amazed? That's the Happy-Force. Think about flying squirrels and bunny rabbits. Cute, right? Now think about them combined. You know the outcome would be cute, yet it's hard to picture. I think that's because it becomes an abstract idea when we cease to have the ability to comprehend it. As I said, it can completely possess moments and other people.
Am I just talking out my ass? Yeah, lets face it, I probably am. I just like to think that there are a wealth of beautiful things out there. I feel like I, myself, have been privelaged to see these things during my lifetime. People can completely astound you, amaze you, and intrigue you. In that capacity human beings have the greatest power on earth. That's because another human being can make you cry, hate yourself, and crush your dreams. We alone dominate that spectrum and can have that effect on eachother.
That's where you'll find two different camps of people. From the saying "It's better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved before." Some people agree, some disagree. I think it's like asking if the glass is half full or half empty. It depends on how you look at life, and how you view your actions going through life. In my opinion it truly IS better to have known love at least once in your life than to have never known it before. I'm sure some of you think that I've never had my heart broken before, but thinking that is quite the fallacy. I have loved and lost, and to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way.
How can we truly learn about ourselves if we don't make mistakes. Completely stealing a line from a movie here, but "Why do we fall? So we can get back up again". Yar. You learn a little bit about yourself by how you react to love and the loss of love. So what if someone ends up not loving you anymore. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to sit and mope and moan about how terrible it is to be alone? Or are you going to think about how many other people there are in the world to meet and eventually find someone will love you for who you are?
Some people are a tad more malleable and bounce back a little faster than others.
I don't know where I was going with any of that. But life's been good to me, I must say. I've made mistakes and I think I'm ok with that.
I should probably talk about what's been happening lately.
College ended off really well for me. I was lucky enough to meet an amazing Gal whose got a razor sharp sense of humor (Blueberry dumplings). I also passed all my classes. That may not be saying much, but it still leaves me with an opportunity to come back again and try to improve all the things I've been slacking with.
I even got to walk back from Liz's dorm on one of the last nights and slide all the way back to Thompson Hall on the ice. It was so sweet. Except, well, I almost slid right into oncoming traffick at one point. But what's life without a little bit of danger, eh? However, I have decided that basements pose too much danger, and should probably be avoided in the future. You know who you are.
Santa was very good to me indeed. Not only did I get a groovy CD from Sarah, and a loverly scarf, but a bunch of other cool things as well. My parents decided to be awesome and get a bunch of camera equipment, including a set of micro lense adapters, a brand new telescopic mirror lense, and best of all.. CASH. I also got assorted sweaters from the grandparents, and more cash. I bought a bunch of camera stuff with that, and I also got 8 rolls of film developed. That cost me near 50 bucks, but I Got some good shots from that, so I think it was worth it.
Lesseeeeeee, OH! I almost forgot the coolest thing that's happened so far. I got to go to Upper Dublin, PA and stay with Liz's family. Scha-wing. She has a wonderful golden retriever named Honey, the sweetest and nicest grandparents I've ever met on both sides of her family, a groovy sister, and a cool brother. Her parents are pretty cool too. Her mom had Dr. Czernik in the 8th grade when she lived in Dover. Small world, eh?
We got to go and see the Human Body exhibit at the Franklin Institute, which was also cool. I have never seen so many dead bodies, especially with out skin. Skipped over the dead pregant women and fetuses, not exactly my cup of tea. Yet it was groovy all around. Before that we had gone to a British pub in Philly. Man, that place was pretty cool. Massive heavy glasses which the waitress kept thumping around, and an OK Ruben. Yet the desert kicked both Liz and I's asses. It was called a Big Ben Brownie. It was two fucking massive brownies with vanilla ice cream in the middle. For once we could not finish it. Yeesh.
Anyway, we also went to Hershey Park to see the lights and ride some of the rides. It was cool just hanging out with my baby. Her dad insisted on taking pictures. Also- I was molested by the people in chocolate bar costumes. God those things creep me out. That was relatively short time there, compared to the ride up. On the way back we stopped at a place called Red Robin. Never heard of it, but they had good burgers and Liz and I decided to once again split a desert. This time it was the Mile High Mud Pie. Jesus. It must have been a couple pounds of solid ice cream. However, we perservered and completely demolished it. Personally I think we deserve a medal for stuffing our faces so well.
The most interesting bit, however was playing Beer Pong. Now, lets get one thing strait, right off the bat. Beer is fucking disgusting. However, I still played three nights in a row. If you play with the right people, it's massive fun. I also did a crab dance. On the last night her whole family played, and their respective significant others (Jessie and Alex). I hope I got their names right, they were both cool cats. Hmm, oddly enough both those names can cover either gender. Alex belongs to her brother, and Jessie to her sister. Figured I should clear that up.
Eventually we came back here for some time to relax. Her father is a vacation Nazi, so he had something planned every day that I was there. We slept... a lot. Took a nap or two. It was really great, I tell you. We watched movies, ate sammiches, and celebrated New Years together. Parrot Bay is tasty. On the day before she left we had dinner with the one and only Kelsey Simms. It was my first time at Panera Bread, and it was good. After that we walked around Barnes and Noble for a little bit. I bought something very dorky. A DM's screen for my upcoming D&D campaign which I shall be running at college. Anyway, back home after that for napping, movies, and falling asleep in eachothers arms. Yay for that.
Anyway, that was just under a week ago, and I helped Liz move back in to UD for winter session. She's going to be coming back down tomorrow for the weekend. She needs time to unwind, as winter session Chem is murder, and I need time to whore for attention.
So... that's just a little bit of the world of Joe, I suppose. I'm going to try and learn how to play the guitar, though I don't know how it'll turn out. I'm also making some Horde Characters to level up with Chris and Kelsey.
Yup. That's about it.
Dinner time.
AWAAAAAAY!
