I stared at the other building ahead of me. He was there right now and I was here. Far away from him. I closed my eyes and leaned against the wall.
Chapter Three
I sometimes think I hear your voice. Whispering stuff I want to hear. I wanted it to stop. It hurts so much. Remembering what used to be.
“What are you doing here? I thought we we’re going to use the computer?”
“I was looking at the city. Kai’s in 1111.”
“Aoi, Kai told me what happened a while ago… Are you ok?”
“I can’t stand being in the same room as him anymore. I can’t stand being near him or seeing him with his friends.” I paused and glanced at Ruki. “I just get so frustrated that he isn’t talking to us or even text us or something.”
“Oohh… Someone’s jealous…” Ruki smiled and sat beside me. “Maybe he’s busy or something? I mean we’re all busy…”
“Yeah we are busy. But we still get to hang out with each other you know and he doesn’t even look like he’s interested in us when we pass him in the hallways. It’s like we don’t know each other.”
“You’re taking this too seriously Aoi. Come on. He has new friends now, and we do too… it takes time to adjust in things. I’m sure you’ll forget about this.”
“It’s been a year Ruki…”
“Still.. It takes time…”
“I shouldn’t have told him… I was so stupid, thinking maybe he could feel the same way that I do.”
“You still like him?”
“Yes, I think so… but sometimes it gets replaced with anger or something… I just don’t understand. I’m so confused right now.”
Ruki placed an arm around my shoulder. “I know.” He said as he ruffled my hair. “That’s why I’m here. I’ll be the one to distract you from him. I’ll make you forget about him.”
“Well distract me now before I go insane.”
(Flashback)
“That looks so cool Ruki.”
“I love the way you drew the Uruha chibi with cat ears.”
“Why do I have a fluffy tail?”
“It’s a rabbit Kai.”
“Omg. Aoi looks cute as a fox.”
“Hey! Why do you get to be a dog?”
“’Cuz I like dogs and I drew it.”
“So unfair.”
RIIIIIIIIIIIINNG
“Aww… It’s time already?”
“See you at lunch Kai, Uru!”
I watched Ruki draw some more while waiting for the teacher. He really is good in drawing. We heard someone talking outside the classroom door; I sighed and glanced at the door expecting the teacher to walk in and start the lesson.
“WOOOT! Sir Len is not here!” Tora said as he entered the classroom, Saga and Nao following behind him.
I turned my attention back at Ruki who was staring at me. “What?”
“Nothing.”
Tora pulled a seat next to me. “Hey did you get my message last night?”
I nodded and pulled out a folder with a pile of papers from my bag and handed it to him.
“Where do you get this stuff? It’s so good.” I watched him scan thru the papers and glance at me.
“I just searched it in lj… they have a lot of stuff there.”
“Just give me the link later and I’ll check it out.” I nodded again and sighed. Tora and his fanfic porn.
“Ok. Uhm Tora? Could you just change seats with Ruki for today?”
“Yeah sure. I’ll be with Saga and Nao”
I watched Tora go to Nao and Saga who were currently taking photos with Nao’s new camera.
“I want one of those.”
“I know you do. You take a lot of good photos.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. The photos from the photo shoot were great. I thought you edited them.”
“Nah. I’m not that good in editing stuff.”
“Yeah right. Uruha’s photos were absolutely beautiful.”
“Well the model was beautiful.”
Ruki played with his pen as I waited for him to draw some more.
“Do you like him?”
“Eh? What?!”
“Oh come on Aoi. I know you like him. It’s obvious.”
I sighed and shook my head. “No.” But of course that was a lie. I really like Uruha, but I was trying to forget about it since I know he wouldn’t feel the same.
“If you say so… Hey wanna continue the comics? I have an idea of what happens first.”
“Sure. I’m not really good in starting these.”
Well at least Ruki can help me forget… I mean distract me from things.
(End of flashback)
He pulled me into a tight hug.
“And how is this going to distract me from him?”
Ruki pulled away and grinned, fixing his hair and shirt. “You’ll be too busy worshiping me… The most wonderful and talented person in the world.”
“Right…” I rolled my eyes and stood up. “We better go to Kai. I bet he’s wondering where we are.”
As we made our way to the classroom I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out and opened the message. And I can’t believe who it was from.
Hey Aoi. xD What’s up?
I was wondering if you, Kai and Ruki are free later? About 6pm?
I miss you guys so much. So text back ASAP ok? =3
