There's something about Mary! *Clock Tower spoilers*

I love Clock Tower with all of my brain, practically making love to the game series every chance I get (besides 3) with praise for Scissorman that tends to annoy the general populace, but I have to ask a question:

Where did Jennifer's BRAIN go between The First Fear and Clock Tower 2? I mean, in The First Fear she didn't really have much of a brain to begin with, but in her defense she was pure and innocent, and...wait. At that age I  was innocent, but I wouldn't have done some of the stupid crap that she pulled. Well, there was that and the fact that the game in some ways made no sense (How the hell did she manage to carry that statue, the robe, the HALF OF A HAM, all those keys, the random bottle of perfume, and a freaking LANTERN if you let Ann die and decide to go up and grab it, and still be able to run away from Scissorman without so much as giving an inkling to a hiding spot? I'd think the jingling of keys would give her away enough), love it though I do.

Don't believe me?

Well, here you are.

This is just the rant about the first game...CT2 will come later, in a future entry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The game starts out simple enough. I mean...Jennifer and her friends are adopted, and they're all waiting around for Mr. Barrows after Mary leaves the room for (according to game time) an ungodly amount of time. Great friends they are, they send Jennifer alone in the house to  go find Mary while they sit around like lazy people.
But this is what gets me...
And maybe I'm just picky.
But Jennifer starts out in the hallway, right? Okay, she starts out in the hallway and goes out to the foyer after the scream is heard. And then your friends are gone and the lights are out.
But there are three ways you can find Scissorman:
1: Go back the way you came and go into the bathroom to find Laura dead by being hung (and most likely burned to death/drowned) in an extra-hot shower with Scissorman in the tub waiting.
2: Go back the way you came and go through the hidden wall opening to find Ann drowning in a pool, with Scissorman in the pool waiting for you (and you pretty much automatically die if you end up here, though I haven't tried hiding from him in the shed yet).
3: Go back the way you came and go into the second foyer and find Ann being impaled through the ceiling.
Cool ideas, but...
In order for the first two to happen, they would have run in Jennifer's direction, and then Jennifer would have met Scissorman through a very different circumstance...and Ann being impaled through the ceiling (I believe this is her *official* death, though I could be mistaken)...it's actually the most realistic of the deaths due to timing, but I dunno...I don't know if anyone would be stupid enough to run on the ROOF to escape a psycho killer...Laura strikes me as that retarded, but Ann, not so much. Ann was supposed to be the 'big sister' to the girls, and I'd think the one-year age difference and inventiveness would make her realize that doing a balancing act on top of a skylight with a monster with giant scissors chasing you is NOT a good combination (personally...I would have run until I found something I could hit him with, and beat him until he stopped moving. I probably would have died from him skewering me, but eh).
And this is the reason why she ends up being the last one to die in my FMA/Clock Tower fusion. Don't ask...I'll post info on that another time, since I still don't have the opening finished up yet.
Anyway...
Another thing I have a problem with...
Wouldn't you be a little distrusting of a woman who is sitting there calmly while your friends are getting killed, and been a little LESS trusting if she offers wine to 'calm you down'?
First of all, alcohol to minors is bad. Second of all, drunk+Serial murder=Not good. So why did Jennfier go "Okay, Ms. Mary! I'll drink this bad alcohol for you...and even though you're calm in the way that you're sitting like a couch potato and flipping channels (not 'I'm trying to be calm for the children' calm), as well as the added fact that according to the creator you're a total bitch who, also according to the creator, I know as a woman who freaks out over little things...I STILL don't think you're involved in this AT ALL."
...Thank GOD that's not the OFFICIAL way that things went. The official way is that you find your dead daddy first, and then you find Mary with a knife about to stab you in the face. You have to LEAVE THE ROOM, and she won't chase you or anything...you just leave the room and go back in, and she'll magically disappear so you can grab the gold key from the broken glass on the table.
...WTF.
Those inconsistencies I just have a problem with, because I wouldn't have fallen for that...and I mean...I wouldn't have trusted psycho-bitch Mary to begin with, if she was eally as manic as the creators said she was...>.<
Meh.
I'll get into Jennifer's stupidity in Clock Tower 2 next time...for now, though...it's good luck and good...morning? *blinks*
