Sing to me in that voice of yours, I want to hear you utter in that low tone.
Your soft hums reach my ear. Vibrating vocal cords tickling the side of my head.
I want to stay like this. Sitting upon your lap. Wrapped in your arms.
I want to feel needed.
To feel like your lover.
You and I watch the sun fade before the city horizon. The burning fireball exploding into a kaleidoscope of colors tainting the once blue atmosphere.
You lean back in your chair, taking in all the view of this climatical moment.
Not a colloquial remark uttered.
Not a kana spoken.
Your soft breaths now steadied to a low tune as you continued to whisper your melody.
I knew this song.
My voice crackles to life as I join you. That hard tone of yours complimenting the softness in mine.
A hand reaches up to entangle itself in your blonde hair; thin fingers cautiously caressing the scalp.
You begin to breathe out your notes in relaxation, your head sliding back ever so slightly against my touch.
I sighed a giggle and brought my lips up to your lower jawbone. The sensitive flesh tracing along the rigid outline.
A pink tongue darted out when I neared your lips, quietly caressing the exterior. You playfully poke your own tongue out to meet mine, the slender muscle sliding back in as quickly as it appeared.
I laugh at your tease and move my face away from yours, head resting back between the nook of your neck and shoulder.
Suddenly your hums stop, breathing narrowed.
I heard the pop of your lips as you parted them open, about to speak.
“愛してる,” you silently whisper.
Before I could respond, my mind blanks and vision blurs.
Eyelids snapping open as frantic breaths pour from my parted mouth. Gaze shifting across every angle of my surroundings; mind equally muddled.
I place a caring hand on my forehead, the prelims of a headache appearing. My throat swells and mouth is bitten back in a thin line, a few loose tears escaping my now shutted eyes. I let out a gasping sigh as I fight back the emotions.
A quivering hand travels alongside my bed.
Venturing to the spot where you used to sleep.

A/N: The kana is "aishiteru" or "I love you".
