This is what I do to procrastinate from midterms.
Title: Finding Sunshine After Rain
Rating: WARNING! This chapter is rated NC-17
Pairing: Edwin
Series: Anime 1, oddly enough. But there will be a few shout-outs to Brotherhood
Summary: In order to get revenge on the FullMetal Alchemist, someone sends Winry over to the other side of the gate and forces her to act like another Earth-lookalike of herself, but there's more at stake than just a broken heart...
chapter 1 chapter 2 chapter 3 chapter 4 Okay so about the *cough* rating...it's probably a spoiler for what happens in this chapter but anyway, I was going to use the "cut it off before the action" method, but my fingers kept on typing before I could stop them. I suppose its good practice, anyway, since I hardly ever write smut.
For those that don't want to read it, you can just scroll down and skip it, I suppose. This will be the only NC-17 chapter in the fic, so it won't be a regular thing.
“So what was it you were saying about today?” Alphonse asked, halfway through his cider that night.
Ed rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, “Some idiot approached me after work and asked if I wanted to join a German workers union.”
“What did you tell him?”
Ed rolled his eyes and took a sip of his beer. “What do you think? I told him to piss off. You think I’d be able to keep my job if I got involved with that shit? Besides, I don’t like their tactics. You hear about their mobs? An Englishman was killed the other day because of ‘em. And the English will probably retaliate somehow. I’m not getting involved in shit like that.”
Al shrugged, “What would they want you for?”
“They probably want more for some kind of coalition. Strength in numbers and all that shit. But most people really don’t care and would rather keep their jobs then join a union.” He thought about it a moment and continued. “Unless they’re planning something…”
“Planning something?”
“You know, mass strike or something. Marching through the streets and proclaiming their rights and all that crap. If you want to do that, go to fucking America, they love marching all over the place, don’t do it ‘round here-”
There was a clink of glasses, and Ed glanced at the source by habit. It was Wendy, carrying away glasses from behind the bar. The second their eyes met, he regretted it, blushing slightly and quickly looking away.
She didn’t look at him for any longer than she had to either; and he didn’t blame her. Neither of them really wanted to bring up what was so clearly happening between them.
Unfortunately, his little brother was too perceptive for his own good. Looking at both of them in turn, he asked, “Something wrong?”
“Nope, nothing, why do you ask?” Ed said quickly, taking a long drink before plastering a fake smile on his face and asking Wendy, “How’s everything been?”
“Good,” at least she knew when to pick up the act. “Madame’s been working me hard, but that’s usual, right?” she let out a high, fake laugh.
And then there was silence.
“I’d better get back to work now; Madame doesn’t want me dawdling you know,” she said, grabbing up more glasses.
“Yeah, wouldn’t want you to get in trouble,” Ed agreed. And with another fake smile, Wendy went into the backroom with as many glasses as she could carry.
Alphonse let out a snort. Ed noticed. “What?”
“You both know Madame doesn’t care if she talks to us. So what’s going on?”
“Nothing’s going on-”
“Yeah, right! You’ve both been acting weird to each other ever since you came back from your date-”
“It wasn’t a date!” Ed cut in.
Alphonse rolled his eyes. “It was a date. But what happened?”
Ed wanted to continue to protest that it was not a date, but the memories of the night before came flooding back and stopped him short.
Memories of that sissy movie they were forced to sit through.
Memories of that one drunken idiot asking Wendy to dance.
Memories of sitting on the shore of the Thames, and Wendy asking him to teach her English.
Memories of that kiss.
That kiss.
That was the reason he had to remind himself that Winry and Wendy were two different people-because when he forgot things like this happened.
Having those dreams about Winry every night made was starting to get to him. When he and Wendy were talking like it was the most natural thing in the world, he started forgetting altogether that she wasn’t the girl he had grown up with years ago.
And since he fucked that girl every night in his dreams, it wasn’t hard to believe he was in one of his dreams again, where kissing her was the most natural thing in the world.
The worst part was her reaction. She should have slapped him. She should have pushed him off and demanded to go home. But she didn’t. She balled her fists in his shirt and pulled him closer, sticking her tongue in his mouth and nonverbally begging him to continue. And continue he did.
He didn’t know how long it lasted-all he could remember was a haze of mixed pleasure and happiness on kissing his Winry-when a boat’s whistle had been blown. They had jerked apart, seeing two sailors on a tug whistling and pointing as they sailed on.
He remembered breaking out of that haze as panic settled on him. Not only had he been kissing Wendy, but one hand was already cupping her breast and another had been snaking up underneath her sweater. And she had been okay with this.
When he let her go like he was holding fire, he saw that look in her eyes-hurt. She had wanted it. All of it. And that only made him feel worse.
He had wanted it-but not with her. She was just a replacement for the real thing. He wasn’t going to use her when it wasn’t her that he wanted.
It was all he could do to mutter apologies and take her back to Madame’s right afterward. Neither of them said a word on the way back. They both knew a line had been crossed, even if she didn’t understand why.
Swirling the beer around in his mug, Ed gave a small sigh. That night, he had forgotten in all of it that she was Wendy, not Winry.. If those sailors hadn’t stopped them, how far would it have gone? What would happen if there was a next time and no one was there to snap him out of it?
But he had been happy. He could honestly say those few seconds-maybe minutes-or hours-had been the happiest he had felt ever since he had come to this place. Fuck it, it was maybe one of the happiest moments in his entire life.
He remembered Al’s words… “Don’t deny yourself something you want because of something you can’t have.”
You’re not in love with Wendy. He reminded himself. It’s Winry you want.
They were two different people. And if he forgot that next time he kissed her-
Well, so what? What if he did forget? What’s the worst that could happen?
A lot of things. He argued with himself. A lot of bad things could happen.
Yeah, a lot of things. But did he care if they did happen?
Some part of him really wanted to say ‘No’.
There was a little creak as the door to the backroom opened, and Wendy came out with an empty tray, looking for more glasses. For a moment, their eyes locked. Ed knew he should say something. Apologize, maybe. Tell her he didn’t mean to force her into it. Maybe that way they could actually talk to each other again without the awkwardness.
Because the thought of not talking to her again like he had that night hurt…She had been the first person to make him laugh since he came here…The first one to make him smile…He didn’t want to lose that…
But if they went any further, it would be like giving up on Winry. And he didn’t want to give up hope, even if it was minuscule. But…
Al’s probably right…she’s probably moved on…she probably hardly ever thinks of you now…At least Wendy cares…
He had two choices; give up and live happy with Wendy, but never know if Winry had truly waited for him and he could have had a greater happiness, or don’t give up, and maybe never be happy. He knew the logical choice, where less people would be hurt in the end, but if there was any hope…
Any hope at all-
“Ed?” Wendy asked him directly. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
He swallowed. “I…”
The doors of the bar burst open. A tall, glaring man looked at them all with fury in his eyes. He roared, “Die, Krauts!” and then whipped out a pistol and began shooting.
Screams filled the room as everyone dove under the tables. Mugs and bottles smashed to the floor as tables and chairs were upturned in the chaos. Ed dove for Wendy and covered her as another shot fired. “Al! Where’s Al?” He looked around, but he couldn’t see his little brother anywhere in the mass of people streaming for the back exit. “Al!”
Another bullet fired and one of Madame’s patrons fell down, blood spurting from his arm. Ed glanced from left to right, eyes wide in fear. Got to get out of here got to get out of here got to got to got to find Al got to-
Keeping Wendy covered, he stood up and ran for the backroom; there was a door there, they could get out and be safe and find Al-Where was he?
But the man spotted them. Turned to them. Roared in fury and fired at them-
Wendy let out a shriek, and there was a ping! as the bullet deflected off of Ed’s raised metal arm. He was only struck dumb for a second before shoving Wendy through the backroom door, following her right after.
They managed to burst out the side exit and onto the slick street as another shot was fired inside. Customers ran out any exit they could find and Madame’s girls screamed as they jumped from second story windows, their floofy skirts billowing about them as they fell and on the street. “Al!” Ed called again, but no one answered. “Where are you?”
Madame was encouraging her girls to get away by the back exit. “Gretchen, go to the police! Ask for Masten! Maria, make sure everyone’s out-!”
“Madame!” Ed ran up to her. “Al, did you see-?”
She looked worried for only a moment. “I don’t know. I thought I saw him run behind the bar, but-”
Ed didn’t think-he took two steps towards the door, but Madame grabbed him away. “You can’t go back in there, it’s too dangerous!” Just as she said it, another bullet was fired.
“But, Al-!”
“He’s a smart kid; he knows how to hide and stay there. If you go in, you’ll only be endangering him-”
“I’m not leaving my little brother in there to-!”
“Edward,” Madame glared at him. “The police are on their way. There’s nothing you can do now. Just…” she glanced back at Wendy, standing there with tears in her eyes. “Look after Wendy, will you? Make sure she stays safe.”
“But-!”
“Please.”
She let him go, and though he knew in his mind he could run in there and damn what anyone else said, logic caught up to him. This wasn’t Amestris. He couldn’t waltz in there and kick anyone’s ass with a cheap alchemy trick. That man had a gun. He had nothing. He could do nothing. He was useless.
So useless that right now he couldn’t even save his little brother.
His hands clenched into fists, so much that his automail one creaked under the strain. “Damn it…Damn it!” He yelled to the sky, hearing a symphony of bullets and police sirens in its wake.
It was silent in his flat. They sat in the two chairs at the table, unable to say a single word. Every now and then, Wendy would glance back at Ed, but he continued to stare at the floor, hardly noticing she was even there.
They didn’t know how long it had been since they got back; it felt like hours. But sitting and waiting made time move slower than normal. They should have heard by now. If Al was all right, he should have come home by now. There should be some word-any word-by now, right?
Al wouldn’t let him suffer without knowing like this, right?
Right?
It was his fault. It was his fault. There was something he could have done. There must have been something-! Damn it, if he still had his alchemy he would have been able to stop it-save everyone! But he didn’t-he was here in this place and was powerless to do anything but sit around and watch people get hurt in front of him.
If Masten hadn’t ordered him home and out of his crime scene, he would have stormed in there and fought to find his little brother, legal jurisdictions be damned. But Wendy was already crying and Madame was nearly forcing him out of the way when the police stormed in.
It wasn’t the fact that he had done nothing that hurt; it was the fact that he knew nothing he could have done would have made a difference.
Powerless.
He was powerless. If anyone tried to hurt someone he cared about, he wouldn’t be able to stop them.
Useless.
Can’t do anything but stand by and watch-
There was a knock on the door. Ed’s eyes snapped back to Wendy’s, as if unsure if she heard it too. With a gulp, he stood up and managed to get over there, but when he opened the door, he was disappointed.
It wasn’t Al. It was his landlady. Tall, blonde, and intimidating, she usually glared down at them with contempt, giving him the impression that if she disapproved of the way they kept their apartment, she would whip out a sword and show him the proper way to do it. (Why he thought of her wielding a sword was another thing entirely…Who the Hell used swords as weapons anymore?).
Though right now, she didn’t look annoyed; she just had her usual neutral expression in place. “You got a telephone call downstairs.”
A phone call? Maybe-Maybe-! “Thanks!” he told her, and sped down the stairs. Bursting into the parlor at the bottom floor, he leapt for the receiver and nearly pulled it out of the wall when he grabbed it. “Al? Al! Is that-?”
“Hello, Ed,” Madame said in a rumpled tone on the other end.
But he didn’t wait for pleasantries. “But Al! What happened to Al-?”
“He’s fine,” she said at once, and relief flooded him. “He’s with me. We’re at the police station.”
“Let me talk to-!”
“Well, if you insist.” She sounded amused. There was a moment of pure silence before a shuffle was heard on the other end, and then, “Brother?”
“Al!” Ed nearly laughed in relief. “You’re okay!”
There was a small pause, like he was wondering where all the enthusiasm came from. “Yeah, I’m fine. You and Wendy went one way, and I went the other. I hid behind the bar until the police got there. You should have seen Masten! He took the guy down in one punch! Then he yelled at him for messing up Madame’s bar.”
Ed gave a sigh, and then asked the other question he wanted to know, “Was anyone…?”
“No, no one died,” Al told him at once. “A few people were shot, but they were taken to the hospital. They’ll be okay. Madame’s not sure her business will ever recover, though. We’ll have to eat there every meal of the day now to keep it open.”
Ed gave a hollow, forced laugh. “Did they…did they find out why he did it?”
At this point, Al’s voice also turned serious. “Yeah…they said his son died in the war. He was planning on committing suicide, but before that, he wanted to take out as many Germans as he could.”
“Fuck,” was all Ed could say. He was about to go on a rant about how messed up this world was-but then he remembered he knew a serial killer or two back in Amestris who had similar ideas.
“Yeah.”
“I’m gonna come up and get you, all right? Stay there-”
“Actually, Ed, you can’t. Because I helped Madame and everyone get back here, they’re treating me like a witness. They won’t let me leave until tomorrow.”
Ed clenched his fist. “Fuck that! I’ll give them a piece of my-”
“Calm down, Ed.” Al sighed on the other end. “It’s not a big deal. But if you come here they’ll start asking questions to you and then you won’t be able to leave. You’ve got work you have to do; I’ll only miss school,” he said with a sort of hopeful laugh. “Besides, if you come they’ll probably find out that you were protecting Wendy, and then they’ll ask all sorts of questions about her and we don’t want that.”
That made him curious. “We don’t? Why not?”
Al gave a little groan, as if it was obvious. “Madame thinks she’s an illegal.”
“We’re illegal. Technically.”
“But do you think Wendy had the sense to pay someone to make her fake birth certificates and passports? Let’s just keep her out of this, Ed. Just look after her tonight, okay? She’s probably a bit shaken up-”
“She didn’t seem-”
“And you’re not doing so well, either.”
“I’m not-”
“Your voice is shaking.”
Ed wanted to argue, but any argument he made would only prove Al’s point. That kid knew him too well. He swallowed in an attempt to clear it and said, “I’m fine.”
Yep, he was totally fine. It didn’t matter that some freak tried to kill a whole bunch of people including his brother and Wendy and he was powerless to stop it-it didn’t matter, he was fine!
Fine!
“Whatever, Ed,” Al sighed, clearly not believing him. “Just get some sleep already.”
“If you say so,” Ed rolled his eyes, before adding, “Just be careful.”
“I can take care of myself. Besides, Madame will make sure they don’t do anything to one of her precious customers.”
“I bet,” he said, before hanging up the phone.
When he went back to his flat, Wendy was there, looking worried, “Al, is he-?”
“He’s fine,” he told her quickly. “He and Madame are at the police station.”
“That’s good,” she sighed in relief, before noticing he wasn’t sitting back down. “Where are you going?”
“To bed,” he told her, heading for his room. It had been a long day, and he wanted to sleep. “You can sleep in Al’s room if you like; he won’t care-”
She followed him, even into his small, dark bedroom. “Wait a minute, Ed. Are you sure you’re okay?”
He turned back to her, nearly snarling, “I said I’m fine-!”
She was quiet for only a moment. “Then why are you shaking?”
He wasn’t shaking. He wasn’t! They were fine! They had all survived and were fine, and Al was fine and they were all fine! So-so-!
“Ed-” She came closer; trying to cut their distance in that dark room. But he shuffled back. He didn’t want to be comforted by her, a mere sham of the woman he really wanted!
“It’s okay. We all survived, so…” He trailed off, sitting down in that small reading chair in his room, next to his pile of physics and chemistry books. He remembered sitting in this chair, reading into the long hours of the night with only a small lamp lit so he wouldn’t disturb Al in the other room. Here, he read on countless theories; trying to find anything that would aid them finding a way back to Amestris. It was here, in this room, that he sat and read and dreamt of going back home to Winry.
And now Wendy had penetrated her way even into this sanctuary.
He rested his elbows against his knees, and leaned his head against his hands. Now, even he could tell his hands were shaking. Damn it, she was right.
But why were they shaking? They survived, and even though he had been powerless to save anyone and they had almost died, they had survived so that meant everything was all right! He was all right!
Wendy said nothing, only knelt down next to him, placing a gentle hand on his arm. He flinched at her touch, torn between wanting to grab her and hold her and never let go or throw her away and yell that she didn’t have the right to touch him! That kiss the other day meant nothing! It didn’t matter that he was dreaming about her every night or that he was starting to think that maybe it wouldn’t be all bad if he accepted her and gave up on Winry, because he was so useless that he might never find a way back to Amestris and if Winry saw him now she might just reject him anyway and-!
Damn it.
He wasn’t all right.
“You’ve got a hole in your shirt,” Wendy said, pointing to the cigar-burn shaped hole in his right sleeve. He looked and gulped when he realized what that was.
It was a burn mark. Where that bullet had hit and deflected off his metal arm. If he hadn’t had his arm there by luck, either one of them could have been-
“It’s…fine,” he choked out. “I have other shirts…”
But she placed her fingers over that hole, feeling the cool metal underneath. “Your arm is dented.”
Yeah. Dented. Something that she would have killed me for. Even if a small dent saved my life, she’d still go nuts over it. Every little scratch…
It was like Wendy was saying it without even thinking, “It’ll probably still work fine even with a dent…though you could try to pop it out-”
Bile rose up in his throat and then fury hit him at once. “Don’t do that!” he suddenly roared, making Wendy jump back in surprise. “Just don’t! It’s my arm damn it and-!” You’re not supposed to care about how it works! That’s not your job, that’s hers!
Because, damn it, if you start doing that, I’ll never be able to tell the difference and then…
“Ed…” she said, hurt in her eyes. He had hurt her. And even though a part of him wanted to hurt her, another part hated himself for it.
Just like how one part of him hated her, while another part loved her and never wanted to let her go.
And he wasn’t sure if that one part wanted her because she looked and acted like Winry, or if it wanted Wendy just because she was Wendy.
He didn’t want to know which it was.
“Just…stop talking about my arm,” was all he could get out in a way of an apology. “I don’t want to talk about it.” I only want to talk about it with Winry. He gave a sadistic sort of laugh. “Besides, it’s ugly and cold and heavy, so who’d want to talk about it? It just makes me an amputee with a crazy robot arm-”
“I don’t think it’s a crazy robot arm!” Wendy cut in, looking slightly offended for some reason, but Ed kept on going.
Wendy was in his inner sanctuary, in his head-just everywhere and when he had tried and tried to stay out of her way, it didn’t work, it’d never work, because he was useless and powerless and no matter how hard he tried to do anything, he’d always fail.
At the end of his rope, he kept on with that horrible faked laughter, “Just a freak who doesn’t belong in this world-that’s what they’ll all say, right? A freaky Kraut who can’t even do a thing to save anyone and who’ll never get back home and have to live life alone in this shitty place because no one wants to touch someone with this hunk of metal hanging off my-”
He stopped when he felt Wendy grab his metal hand. He turned to her, seeing tears shining in determined eyes. When she got his attention, her grip slacked to hold it gently. “You can save people,” she told him softly, her fingers lining up with his. “You saved me tonight, remember? If…if you didn’t have this-” Her other hand ran along the hole in his sleeve, and then his metal arm. “One of us could have gotten killed. You got me out of there, Ed. You did save me.”
Taking another breath, she continued, “And then, the night we…met…” She only looked away for a brief moment. “You brought me to Madame’s. You got me to a better place. That’s something.”
Now her fingers entwined with his. “And don’t you remember when you saved me when that building was bombed? You can save people, Ed. You’ve saved me plenty of times.”
He could say nothing. He was mesmerized by the way she continued touching him-his metal hand, like it was nothing. Like she didn’t even care. Few people in Amestris-and even fewer around here-would do something like that.
“And I don’t think it’s a ‘freaky robot arm’.” She moved her hand so that she was holding it up now, like she was studying it interestedly. “It’s a part of you.” She took another breath, as if steadying herself to say something. “And if it’s a part of you, then that means it’s beautiful.”
Ed froze up when she placed a kiss on one of his metal knuckles. Then another, and she kissed all of them in turn. Ed wanted to say something; tell her to stop, but every time he opened his mouth, he couldn’t find any words.
She turned his hand over and kissed his cold, metal palm; her eyes were shut now, and Ed was given flashbacks to that kiss. Back then, she had kissed his lips without hesitation and now she was doing the same to the most flawed part of him.
Her lips touched each of his fingertips, and then after a small pause, as if she was trying to decide whether or not to do it, she licked his thumb.
“Wi-Wen-!” was all Ed got out before she did it again, before moving to his pointer finger and sucking on the tip. Ed was struck dumb now, blush rising in his face as he watched her, secretly wishing his metal hand could feel more than simple pressure. She moved on to sucking two fingers at a time, and the image of his metal digits inside her mouth, being licked by her tongue was making things a bit…excited.
“Wait-!” he managed to get out, pulling his hand away.
She stared at him, looking hurt and confused, and then gave a sigh, slowly rose to her feet. That was when he realized she was going to leave.
Going to leave.
Going to leave him alone.
His metal hand unconsciously reached out to grab hers just before she turned. He hadn’t realized he had done it until she looked back at him curiously. He realized he must look ridiculous-still blushing from when she had been kissing his fingers, and though he knew it was stupid and wrong and against his better judgment-he didn’t want her to leave.
Somehow, she understood. Turning back to him, she placed her hands on his shoulders, and leaned down so that her forehead touched his.
They stayed that way for a moment, before their eyes met-her worried blue to his broken amber, and then she leaned forward to kiss him.
It started out chaste and comforting, but then his arms wrapped around her and pulled her to him, into his lap and crushing her against him as if she would fade away. After everything that happened that night, he needed her now.
Then her fingers tangled in the roots of his hair at his scalp, and he felt their tongues entwine and he felt her firm, yet soft breasts beneath that blouse pushed up against his chest and then…
Her mouth tasted like the oil on his metal arm…like someone who worked around metal…
Like an automail engineer…
Like his automail engineer…
…
He was in one of his dreams.
Winry was here, with him, kissing him and making everything right. He pulled away from her mouth to place gentle kisses down her neck, and to the shoulder exposed by the low blouse. She tensed for a moment, and then pulled him closer against her body, encouraging him.
She smelled clean; like soap, and it was funny; in his other dreams, it was always strawberries…
He kissed his way back up and felt his flesh hand tickling up her blouse, to land over her breast. It was all right, that was how things always went in these dreams…
She stiffened a bit, but then sighed and leaned into his touch. She placed his other hand, his metal one on her other breast and left it there.
Winry looked at him with slight hesitation, but her meaning was clear, Touch me with all of you.
And he obliged.
His hands were on her, but he could barely feel anything; she was wearing a brassiere somewhere. She leaned against him and kissed his neck in encouragement as he moved to pull that blouse down-thank goodness for the stretchy kind of top!-to see a lacy sort of bra with the straps pulled down underneath.
He reached for the back; but she got there first. He had always managed to get it off in a quick flick before…
He realized he was staring; even in the dim light of this room, he still stared. Winry looked away with a tiny blush on her face, embarrassed, but he didn’t realize what she was embarrassed about.
She was beautiful. She had always been beautiful.
He kissed her again as his fingers explored-touched, tweaked, squeezed. She let out a little gasp against his mouth when he pinched, and when he did it again, her hips gave a little involuntary thrust.
That was when he became very aware that she was straddling him, and that a certain part of him really enjoyed it.
What did it matter? He was dreaming.
His metal hand came around her waist to steady her as he lowered his head, trailing down kisses and licks like he had done so many times before, and then when his tongue ran over a pert nipple, her fingers grabbed at the back of his head and held him there. When his teeth gently bit down, she let out a gasp of his name.
He wanted more; he wanted to hear her, his Winry cry out his name again and damn it, he was going to have it.
When he pulled away, he felt her hands move to his shirt to start unbuttoning-but that would take too much time. His shirt always unbuttoned itself by the end of it anyway. No, this was going to go faster. If he could wake up anytime, he wanted to finish this before he had that chance.
His human hand ran along that floofy red skirt (why was she wearing that, anyway? He had never seen Winry wear something like it…) and then ducked under. Fingers brushed the soft skin of her leg, and her breath seemed to stop as she felt him squeeze her thigh.
“E-Ed…” she gasped, as if unsure if this was going to happen.
He didn’t let that stop him. His fingers brushed along her inner thigh and then found the material of her panties, already wet. Her breath hitched again as he placed a gentle touch, and then ran a finger up and down that slick streak. When he pressed harder, moving upward, she let out a high-pitched gasp and rolled her hips against him.
His dreams told him that he should keep touching her there, and he did. And he was rewarded. She had her arms around his neck as he continued to gently pet, before moving aside the wet fabric entirely and touching her skin to skin.
“Ed!” she sounded a bit panicked, but once his finger found that nub of flesh, she couldn’t say any more. He smirked, watching her writhe and pant as he worked his fingers down there, knowing that he was bringing his Winry pleasure and that right now, no other man had that honor.
But she seemed to catch on where this was leading; just as his fingers slipped into her, she rubbed her palm against the tent in his pants. He stiffened, gasping, “Win…ry…you-!” When she gripped him tighter and squeezed.
Her hands stumbled a bit on the belt buckle, but had it undone and off in seconds. Then came his button and zipper as she slowly pulled it down…
Too slow!
His fingers slipped out of her as he grabbed her and kissed her again-their tongues and teeth mashing against each other in a frenzy as she yanked down his boxers, exposing his erection to the cool night air, but it wasn’t cool for long as her hand grabbed him and pulled.
“God…Winry!” he hissed through his teeth as she worked him. Up…and down…up…and down…and a little squeeze and-In all his dreams never remembered it feeling this good-
So good…too good…he needed it, he needed it now or he was going to fucking explode-
She couldn’t wait either, her hips already bucking against him through her skirt. She stood up a bit, and he held her around her waist to steady her as she pulled her skirt up. He could see her slick breasts heave as she panted, and looked down at him, nibbling her lip. And though he knew she wanted it (and really what did it matter? He was dreaming!) she was still a bit unsure.
But then she seemed to sigh, as if she really didn’t care anymore, and brushing the fabric of her panties aside, she tried to settle down on top of him.
He could see and feel her tense up as she slowly moved down on him, with her eyes scrunching up and tears forming in them. It was hurting her. He didn’t know why it was but all the same it made him feel a bit guilty. His hands tried to steady her as she slowly pushed herself down-and though it was starting to feel amazing he had to force himself not to thrust up into her.
But God it felt so good with her all tight and wet and-
She let out a gasp as managed to fit him all the way in, and she fell against him for a moment, shuddering. Though it felt so damn good for him, he remembered that it hurt girls their first time. Even if according to his dreams it wasn’t, but whatever. Dreams could differ. He held her close and said, “Sorry, Win…” his fingers tracing up and down her exposed back, kissing along her neckline, hoping that would distract her.
He stayed still, but damn it he wanted to move-Then her insides flexed and Oh, God!
She gave another shudder, and with her hands on his shoulders, she forced herself up…and then down again. He was slipping into a haze as she continued to thrust down on him-his hands now shaking from pleasure rather than fear…he felt her ragged, panting breaths mixed with his own as he pulled her forward and kissed her again…and again…
Another thrust and-
“Win…” he gasped again, feeling himself becoming lost quickly. “Win-ry-!”
He let out a gasp as he came, feeling white hot pleasure surge and Oh fuck it felt so good!
Letting out a long, shuddering breath as the haze cleared, he feel forward, leaning against her, his sweat-slicked forehead against her own. She tried to thrust down again, but seemed to give up realizing that he already came, and instead, pulled her arms around him and held him close.
As their breath slowly returned to normal, Ed’s arms held Winry tightly to his chest, and he decided this was the best fucking dream he had ever had.
There were worse places to wake up than with his face between Winry’s breasts.
…wait a minute.
Edward jerked awake, eyes blinking in the sunlight and realizing that yes, it was morning, and there was a naked Winry in his bed.
Except that this wasn’t Resembool, or anywhere in Amestris for that matter. No, this was his flat in London and-
Oh, fuck!
-that wasn’t Winry in his bed.
Redness slowly rose in his cheeks, as Ed realized that maybe that hadn’t been a dream last night after all.
Panic settled on him as he tried to figure out what to do-what to do-oh crap what to do-
When they kissed, it was a big thing, but not so big that it couldn’t be ignored. In time, they could have forgotten it and moved on. But this-was a little bigger.
And ‘little bigger’ was an understatement.
It wasn’t like he could explain to Wendy why he had done it-he wasn’t really sure himself! He didn’t know how it got started, but once it did he thought he was dreaming and just-damn it!
Wendy had fucked him because she wanted to.
But he had done it because he thought she was something else.
And how exactly do you tell a girl that the whole time you were doing her, you were thinking of someone else?!
While Ed was sitting there trying to piece together scrambled thoughts, he heard whispers. He froze, hearing it again. Wendy. Talking in her sleep.
He leaned closer. Was she really talking, or was it-?
“Ed…” she said on a breathy whisper. “Ich…liebe…dich…”
Ed couldn’t stay next to her any longer.
He sat in his boxers on the one bathroom on the floor, cursing himself and wishing very much the night before hadn’t happened.
It didn’t matter if it was the best fucking night of his life, he had been thinking of another woman.
He had hoped he would wake up with another woman naked in his bed. He had wanted another woman to say to him ‘Ich liebe dich’…and that woman wasn’t Wendy.
He sighed, resting his head in his hands.
‘Ich liebe dich’… ‘I love you’…
Smith leaned against the outer wall of the jail cell, holding a piece of wire and waiting for those guards to move.
Imbeciles. They said they were worried that the shooter would try and take his own life. How little they knew.
He tried to control his rage, but he felt it bubble up and well inside him-the nerve of that man! He thought killing innocents was a right way to go about killing himself? Did he think that only a vengeful god would hand down punishment? No, he was going to teach him a lesson. A lesson about what happened when careless mistakes like that were performed around him.
Though he himself was a killer, only those who deserved punishment met death at his hands. Only the lowest of the low went after those who had committed no crime.
With a red flash, the wire wove itself into the jail cell, and wrapped itself around the shooters neck. The shooter gave a little yelp in surprise, but was silenced when Smith tugged a bit on the line.
“You almost ruined my plans,” Smith sneered through the bars at the window. “Now why don’t you see if there really is a vengeful god waiting for you?”
And then he gave a sharp tug on the wire, and the careless shooter was no more.
