Before my sucky day, I talked to Jake for the first time in like, a
year for about 5 minutes, and I told him I tried everything to make my
cold go away, and he said, 'Have you tried Orange Juice? :P" and I was
like," that sounds like a good idea."
Okay, so all night I couldn't sleep. I got a couple a minutes, but I
was hacking phlem, my nose was running, and I couldn't breathe most of
the night. I woke my mother up so she could put vapor rub on me,
because I can't really get all the spots on my back, and I could not
breathe. Finally, it was about 6:53 and she looked at me as I woke up
from a 5 minute sleep, and she told me to take my temperature. I took
it, and the thermometer replied, "Your Temperature is 100.3" So my mom
told me to just lay down, and she left messages on the doctor's phone
to take me back. I went there a week ago, for my ears and my allergies,
so I found it strange.
The doctor's office doesn't open until 8 am, so I laid miserably on the
bed, and I said to my mom, 'Shit. So does that mean I can't go to
school today and help with registration?" "Nope." "Damn. What about
Therapy?" "When we go to the doctor, it depends on whatever they say
you have." "All righty. Can I call Ms. Corris to let her know I'm not
going to school?" "Yeah."
So she gave me her phone, and I called her. Surprisingly, she was awake
and it was a little comforting. I told her about my temperature, and
she told me that she actually wasn't going to school today, because one
of my good friend's sister was/is in labor, and she's only 14-15. And
her own family couldn't be there, so she'd go so she wouldn't be alone.
Ms. Corris told me she'd leave a message with my Leadership Teacher,
that I wasn't coming. And we said our goodbyes and she told me to call
her if my brother can help out. And I did after two hours.
After I got off the phone, my mother and I got dressed, waiting for the
doctor's receptionist to call us. She left another message, and we
watched Good Morning America. After it was about...9 something, My mom
called back and the woman said, "He's open at 9:30 am" and my mom took
it. Only it was about 9:05 and my mom's car broke down, so we had to
take the bus. We dragged Isaac along, and I was wearing a hat, a scarf,
a thick sweater, my P.J's and my shoes. I brought my theraputic pillow
along, a bottle of Kool-aid, and my box of tissues. It took us 40
minutes to get there, and we were late. X.x
When we finally saw a nurse first, the took my temperature again, And
it has risen. "101.6" And I told my mother, "I feel like a gack face."
And she started laughing. When the doctor came in, the first thing he
said to me was, "OMG. Why are your lips and tounge red?" "..I was
drinking kool-aid?" "Ohhh. Don't do that to me. I was about to tell the
nurses to get you to the emergency room." And it made me laugh, but It
ended up into hacking. He told me I had a viral infection somewhere in
my body, most likely my chest, and the reason my ears hurt was because
my Lymph nodes were swollen. Dr. Zandi said he wouldn't give me another
anti-biodic, but that I needed lots of rest, fluids, and soup.
And that it would take about a week to get better, but that Its
mandatory for me to go to my first week of school. I nodded and we left.
We went to Safeway, Got some soup, Kitten Chow, Orange Juice (courtesy
of Jake) and a few more things. We got on the bus AGAIN with all of our
crap, and went near my aunts house, got another bus to Eastmont, got
ANOTHER bus that dropped us a crosswalk away from the house. We
went in, dropped off all our stuff, and we went on the bus AGAIN to
take Isaac to his therapy. We arrived at Downtown...but the bus never
came. So Isaac left a message with his therapist, telling him the bus
was having a hissy-fit, therefore it wouldn't come. After crossing the
street and it being 1:05 pm, And his appointment started at 12:30, and
that it would take more than 25 minutes to arrive there, we got on the
bus going home...but My aunt called and said my Uncle's cousin was
fixing my mother's car. So we went BACK over to Eastmont, Bought some
ice cream (my throat was parched), and we went to Auto Zone to buy some
brake fluid because he was changing my mom's shocks, front and back
brakes. We had a choice to wait in the Heat, or walk to my aunts house,
and we decided to walk with the bus passing us by. And I almost fainted
from being so tired, and my stomach hurt because I ate some soup, but
hadn't been eating for about a day and a half from being sick.
I slept at my aunts house for 25 minutes, and then we left again, but
this time, in the car! So we got home in 5 minutes, and I collasped on
the bed. At 8 pm, I woke up, and I took some pills to help
relieve my symptoms and I ate some Chicken and stars, but I started
coughing really hard and I threw up a quarter of it. And well...Now I'm
posting this.
While we were on the 40L bus going downtown to take Isaac to his
therapy appointment, my mother got a call from the D.A, Tom. And he had
some bad news regarding my father's case. Supposedably, about a week or
two ago, My father FINALLY pleaded guilty and agreed to 24 years of
prison and probahtion, but now...he's backing out, saying things like,
"Oh well my lawyer didn't correctly inform me about the sentences.....I
want to go to trial." So Now, Instead of him getting sentenced on
September 21st, I have to testify in court, most likely to the judge first, and if a jury gets involved, I have to deal with that damned Cross Examiner. "But," Tom said, "It is
most likely that the Judge will NOT allow him to back out. But if we go
to trial, he can actually get more years." And my Mother's face brightened up again.
I believe we can send letters to the district attorney, stating about
how much this shit has affected my life, and we can pack on even more
years. Which I think is good, because some of my best friend's are
great with words and persuasion. But yeah.
There goes my day.
