Them government officials and their shenanigans

Sector 37 of the Galactic Patrol was a employed 5 Special Agents and 7 lackeys, all of whom were sworn to secrecy about their case. Sector 37 was directly in charge of observing and monitoring Dib "Membrane" Burrow, AKA Experiment 264, while ensuring his safety and the safety of those he was involved with.

It was a surprisingly grueling job.

And also surprisingly dangerous. Of the 7 lackeys assigned to them originally,  3 were missing, leaving the department understaffed and chaotic.

Every week, they received reports from Brahms on his progress in school (and he always did well, even if he was a bit detached from the student body. He had a few groups of friends he drifted between and showed no anti-social tendencies that anyone could catch). He had a tail every time he went "off-planet" from Brahms (and Sector 37 was sure he knew it, even if no one had informed him. Sometimes he was a FAR too good behavior to be believable). And lastly, all his communication lines were tapped and roughly translated (even if they did have some trouble with the English at points, and sometimes stumbled upon some very, uh, intimate conversations with a certain ambassador).

The 5 Special Agents of course knew he wasn't human. Well, not completely human. They also figured his "religion" he spoke of was actually the alternate species he belonged too; a species that may thrive in some sort of religious or spiritual context. This species was not known by other humans and lived in secrecy. This was how the 3 lackeys came to become missing, in fact. All three were sent to Earth during several intervals to gain some information of this alternate species/religion. All reported stumbling upon something; shortly after reporting a discovery, they ceased communicating.

Dib was surprisingly amiable when talking to the government, as long as they didn't imply he was leading a rebellion against them or didn't try to pull rank on him. Special Agent Scots of Sector 37 was very good at detecting lies and reported that Dib mostly told the truth and seemed uncomfortable with lying. Points for him, but he also tended to leave things out. Like the fact he wasn't human.

Special Agents Scots and Nigel approached their assigned case one day at school. Zim and Davian, a believed member of the alternate species, were present, but Scots and Nigel just wanted to ask if they recognized the 3 missing lackeys. If questioned, they would imply that they were involved with the Rebels and were wanted for questioning.

Zim, of course, had not seen them before. He studied the pictures for a moment before shaking his head.

Dib and Davian looked at them at the same time and Dib had the smallest moment of reaction before glancing nervously at his companion. Davian reported they had not seen them before and dragged Dib away before the not-human could answer, but Dib glanced back at them worriedly.

They asked a few more people around the school, just for show, but predictably, nothing turned up.

Dib was waiting at the ship when they went back to it to go back the office.

"I don't have a lot of time to talk before Davian starts to look for me." He glanced back at the school and back at them.

Special Agent Nigel took out his memo pad poised his pen above his paper before Dib shook his head. "It has to be off the record or I'll be in real trouble, and I really don't want involve you guys in all this shit."

Scots and Nigel exchanged glances and Nigel put his pad away. "Alright. I take it you know something about the 3 men pictured?"

"Yeah." The not-human took a deep breath. "They're dead."

"And how do you know that?"

"Well, I didn't kill them, but I was shown their bodies before they were destroyed." He looked at the school again as a nervous jester. "The reason is that... Oh, fuck, how do I explain this..." He rubbed his temples. "They asked the wrong people the wrong questions and attracted too much attention to themselves. I know you guys are just doing your jobs, but I'm giving you as much information as I'm allowed. Snooping isn't going to get you very far."

Scots nodded. "This has something to do with your religion."

"Yeah. They're like a cult, or a mafia family. Very sneaky and suspicious, but they usually keep to themselves if you stay out of their way."

"Can you negotiate the return of their bodies?"

The boy stiffened. "Uh... I can bring it up, but I don't think it'll go over well."

"It would mean a lot to their families if you could try."
Dib's shoulders slumped and Scots nodded. Dib was prone to guilt trips, and Scots only pulled one on him when it was deserved. Those families did want the bodies back.

After a few more questions that were largely answered with, "No comment" the Special Agents made their way back to their office to discuss the issue and brood at their dwindling numbers.

A week later the bodies appeared, brutalized, in a shipment of general electronics that had gone no where near Earth. But they were recovered, and that's all that counted.

Meh. I just thought that one up and thought I should update with something. On a scale of MEH to OKAY this is WHATEVER. Not very well thought out and I got bored halfway through.

I think that the government would track EVERYTHING Dib does at Brahms. Maybe even go as far as placing a spy there as a student. ("Who here has ever dreamed of going to Brahms? Wow, lookit all those hands...") And I think they would get someone to translate English for them. And I think Gretchen and Dib would TOTALLY exchange "intimate" letters because Gretchen would be like, "Totally going to write a bad M rated fanfic about us, ftw" and Dib would be like, "Uuuuuuummm... uuuhhh... I... don't... what?" and then be like, "Wtf, fine." And then the government would be like, "They are totally dating. Gary won the bet!"

And Dib having his own task force assigned to him? Considering all the pans he has on the fire and how many secrets the government knows he has (even if they don't know what they ARE), YEAH he would have one. And they would report directly and only the the Head Council member, because she is awesome. *nods* And this Sector is full of cool people.

And Azmotious would totally hate aliens snooping on his business. And then he would kill them right away and justify it later. And then glare at Dib and be like, "YOU. You are involved with them aliens. What is this?"

Dib: "Ummm... corpses?"

Mo: *glares*

Dib: "Uhhh..."

Mo: "Whatever. They're dead."

Dib: >__>;

Davian: -___-;

ANYWHO.

Was totally going to do something productive today and it didn't happen. Meh.
