Aw, man. I meant to comment on this post when you originally put it up. I am now officially late to the party. OH WELL. Doesn't stop the post from being super pretty now, does it? Absolutely not!
I love the amount of close crops and complex compositions in this post, to be honest. That's really awesome! The softness + sharpness ratios in The two Avengers icons are really kind of...wow. Like it is a little difficult to stop staring at them because of it. And I love the blue/purples tones of both of them as well. Did I mention it is hard to look away from them? And their eyes are really quite spectacular. I don't know if you paid extra special attention to enhancing them or what, but it is a really interesting and eye catching (hah, pun) aspect of them both!
And the you already know about the incredible amount of love I have for 46-50. You should do black and white always and forever, Caryn. They are so spectacular, and as I said before, the lighting is insane! And 49, oh. I have so many feelings!!
The text is also a lot of fun! #30 is just really stellar, I think. It is so interesting how you've used mood dissonance here with both the coloring and the font against his expression and what the text actually says. It is a really interesting contrast, I think. #43 does it as well with the font versus what it actually says which is, again, really thought provoking.
And then, okay, I just think the coloring on #26 is absolutely flawless. Look at that blue! ♥ And then #03 is just...be still my heart. The lighting/shadows are just so incredibly amazing, I cannot even.
*pokes your icon muse* Get your behind in gear, muse! Caryn needs to make more beautiful icons asap!
Samantha!!!!! Late or not, this comment is one of the best I have ever gotten! I just. Ahhhhhhh!
I am glad you like complex things that I do because I always feel like I'm just throwing random shit around on a canvas when I try to make composition-y icons. :D As for Tony and Maria's eyes, I am...not sure if I did anything to them. It kind of looks like I might've, and if I did, it'd just be a simple light blob blurred to hell and then set to soft light on some low opacity. :)
46 - 50 were fun but on the other hand working in black and white kills me because I'm horrid at lighting and cropping most of the time, and those sorts of things seem to matter more when I can't distract people with shiny colors. XP Looking back at some of the text you pointed out...I'm actually not sure why I did it like I did. But hey, if it works, I'm cool with it.
Basically. Thank you so much! ♥ and if you can get my icon muse in gear and also get me more free time you would be my forever hero
