oh my gosh that was absolutely the most amazing thing i have ever seen!
that was absolutely the freaking coolest thing ever. so i'm sick, i'm stressed, and i'm without a line group so my plans for going to the Duke-VA Tech Game tonight died. step in raj, meagan, and diana leaving for the game at 7:30 (8:00 tip off). so i go.
thank God.
with freaking 1.6 left on the clock those stupid Hokies are up by one, 74-75. and this 1.6 comes only after a debate about the clock (from 1 to 16 to 1.6). the game is over, and that stupid Collins is raising hell, which, of course, causes our faithful crazies to cuss right back at him. yeah, duke. but then, somehow, miraculously (there is no other word to describe it), McRoberts passes the ball in play, looking for Reddick but finding "only" Dockery. from HALF COURT Dockery makes the shot. 77-75. heck yeah!
ropes are brought out, but they can't contain us as we rush the court. i high-five sheldon (obviously this involves jumping as high as i can), and i freaking pat the rest of the team on their backs. including the man of the century, my former classmate, Sean THE MAN Dockery.
words cannot describe the excitement in that gym, and nothing can quite capture the moment. it is moments like these that make it all worthwhile. never have i seen anything quite so exciting.
