So I went and saw Jon Walker yesterday. Even as I didn't really like his solo songs, I still wanted to see him live. I also wanted to talk to him but I chickened out in the end. I mean he was standing there talking with his friends and family and I felt really awkward interrupting that, so I didn't. Anyway, his set was really good though. It finally dawned on me why I didn't really like the songs he released and it's because they make me really sad. They were in any case better live, and he played a few new songs that were much more uplifting to me, as well as two Young Veins songs. And you guys, he's so tiny. Like Brendon tiny. I knew he was on the shorter side, but I've always seen him as more robust than Brendon but he's really not. Jon has broader shoulders but other than that, he's just as tiny.
I also gotta say, after seeing Haley at the panic show a few weeks back, and now Cassie yesterday, pictures really doesn't do them justice. I've never thought any of them being as super beautiful as everyone else thought, but I've been proven wrong. And I'm just gonna put it out there, I want Cassie's legs.
Other than Jon, a few other bands played and they were all really good. Mostly I was really impressed by Stamps. They were really, really good. Both in performance and songs. Since the lead singer in Stamps used to be in Hush Sound, Greta was also there hanging around. Her on the other hand, I still don't get the appeal of.
I also saw Empires on Saturday. I didn't think it was possible, but they're even better than what they were two years ago. I got goosebumps during I Want Blood because of Sean's vocal performance. So, so good. Can't wait for Wicker Park Fest!
But mostly I'm waiting for next week when
fannyt and
redorchids are coming to visit! :D
