My kind of drug

I'm feeling less anxious today and have managed to not cry once since yesterday afternoon. Hade some friends over last night, and as always just hanging out helps a lot. Don't really matter that I can't tell them about how bad I can get, and got yesterday, they still get that I'm stressed and calm me down. So today I fed my addiction quite a bit. Binged in new music. That helps anytime and it will be nice to have new things to listen to on the long plane ride on Wednesday.

First out was Green Day's latest. I haven't listened to them before. Just knew American Idiot and Boulevard of broken dreams. (it is called that right? and it is them?) As you can tell, not an expert on them. But it was really good, defenitly an album I can put on and listen to from start to finish without skipping a song.

And then Demi Lovato. Mostly cause I want to compare her next album with her old one. I mean, if William Beckett has touched the music you have to listen :P. And again, really good. I like her voice, the songs are catchy. Haven't really listened to the lyrics yet but that won't be a dealbreak on this one.

Kanye West was 3rd. And I'm more then pleasantly surprised. Another album that I can just put in and listen to all of it. And I'm not even a big fan och hiphop, very picky in that genre. Still think that Fall Out Boy do Love Lockdown better.

And then I started listening to Beckett's latest SNMC, Metric, but no. There was a song or two that stuck with me but they weren't for me. I'm sure that they are very talented but I just couldn't picture me putting one of their albums on. Then, through his little essay in AP, William got me convinced to try out The Cure. And again, I'm so late on some bands it's not even funny. They had like 18 albums, I picked five that had interesting titles. I saved three, Seventeen Seconds, Disintegration and Wish, after listening to them. Wish is the best one so far. So with them it's more like album by album if I like them. I had heard a lot more of their songs than I thought though. Yet another nice discovery.

Tried out 3oh!3 but one song was all I liked. Now I'm listening to This Providence and I like them. Nothing spectacular but pretty decent. Also got Boys like Girls latest songs, different from their debut album, but in a good way. Hoping for a whole new album soon..

Okay, that's enough of music ramblings for today. I could go on forever on this. Too bad my home exam isn't about it :)

music, rambling
