Oh, THAT explains it...
So I figured out why I was getting odd looks and awkward silences. (I may be the oddball of the family but they generally don't treat me as such.)
Turns out that my sister hadn't heard me approach. One minute she was talking to my dad and the next minute I was just there. I learned this after putting in my second appearance when she glanced over, did a bit of a double take and exclaimed, "GOD, you're quiet!" Which is not something I get accused of often and which made me happy. Both because yay, not the outcast of the family and because HEE HEE HEE WATCH ME NINJA MY WAY THROUGH THE HOUSE HEE HEE HEE.
