I know I haven't posted in a while. Just haven't been on the computer, not much to say. I've made ten scarves for the homeless, I actually studied for a test, I stole Waveney's book... that kind of stuff. Boring stuff. Blah.
Oh yes. I hate my English and PE teachers with deadly passion. Stupid PE teacher made me run for no reason... grr. I just don't feel like going into it. I'll explain some other time... maybe. (that means never). And I had to rewrite my short story because my English teacher made it so we had to write a "traditional form" short story. I had to write it all over in one night. Stupid man. Stupid stupid stupid.
Anyway, a drabble/one-shot that comes from reading all of searyuu's drabbles... Inspiration, a bit. I guess. Kind of. Not really. I just was in the drabble sort of mood from reading everything she wrote.
Naraku laughs. Naraku laughs at Inu-Yasha as he fights, desperate and furious, revenge echoing from a forgotten soul. He laughs as Kagome screams, torn by grief and resentment, and drains the soul of a woman she once was. He laughs at Sango, because her soul was taken from her years ago when her hair was washed in blood. He laughs at Miroku, because Miroku was slowly building it back, and he will only steal it away again in the end.
He laughs at Kagura, as she, rebellious and sullen, flings herself at the walls he created around her. He laughs as she betrays him, because he knows she cannot. He laughs when she dies, burning in a field of serenity, because he believes he has had the last laugh. He laughs at all his children, as they die one by one on Inu-Yasha's sword.
Naraku laughs because he does not see that the one most caught in his web of finely spun iron is him.
