YESSS It's that time again!
ok so. We got some decent sleep at Tanya's place, i think. Especially since i had to peel Haley and Heather off the couch/floor when it was time to wake up, hehe. We got dressed, packed up the blankets, said goodbye to Tanya and her kitty, then hit the road. We had another ~7 hours of driving ahead of us!
And drove we did! Once we hit Penn. again, I got fed up with driving and just pedal-to-the-metal-ed it through most of PA haha. I took a break and let Haley drive for awhile, she'd just finished her Driver's Ed course but was still pretty nervous so i gave some (hopefully) helpful pointers. Drift with the wheel, dont pull too hard, etc.
This car from Virginia thought it'd be a good idea to flip us off. LOL. I had both hand's middle fingers going and i was screaming 'FUCK YOU FUCK YOU' even though, lol, we're both in cars they're not gonna hear me! It felt damn good though, HAHA.
She had enough so i jumped back behind the wheel and sped like an asshole for awhile longer. I've driven in philly before and TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE so i thought it would be a great idea to stop for gas before we got into philly and also do one last round of peeing/stretching/decompressing.
IT ENDED UP BEING A REALLY GOOD IDEA. GUESS WHO ELSE WAS USING THAT SAME REST STOP? IF YOU GUESSED THE SEKRETS, YOU WOULD BE RIGHT!!!!!
So we pulled in and we saw this lanky guy walking back and there was their big black bandwagon so we were like NSODFIJSODIJFSODFNATHAAAAAAAN and haley rolled down the window and waffled on calling out for him but i just leaned over and bellowed NATHAAAAAN and he looked confused for a moment but then he saw us and his face just LIT up!
So we pulled in front a gas thing and he sloped over to us for huuuuugs ♥. And Heather was wearing her Against Me! shirt and he started talking about how happy he was for Laura Jane and how she was so much more at ease on stage. MY HEART GREW 3 SIZES THAT DAY haha. No seriously he is the best thing to ever walk this planet.
Then it was time for the arduous journey into Philly. UGH I HATE DRIVING IN PHILLY A LOT. A LOT A LOT A LOT. Though a lot of loling happened because the jeep from virginia that flipped us off ended up a few lanes to our right at one point XD we were like NOOOO!!! and talked about the jeep bursting into flames.
Then we got lost in philly and had to drive through Camden, NJ to turn around. THe dont tax you to leave PA but they tax you to come back. REALLY? :|
But we found our way there, found our way to parking, then migrated to the venue. Philly is gross. It's jsut gross. It's filthy and it was muggy and a little too warm and blech. Especially since the first thing we encountered were these dudes that wanted us to sign petitions, then wanted us to sing some of a song from the Sekrets. MATT SKIBA WAS LIKE. RIGHT THERE. UMMMMM.... We pointed that out and he zoomed right over there to pester Matt. -____- GODDAMNIT.
Matt also talked to us a bit, about how he was happy we made it safely and that he was glad to see us and was like 'so i heard we were at the same rest stop!' osdfjodijfosidjfosidjfosidjf that nathan even MENTIONED us to the other Sekrets!!!! *screeches*
Then we spent time sitting around. Nathan came out to hang with us on and off and Leslie, the keyboardist, started hanging out with us too. We actually knew where people were, so every time they came out, they'd ask us 'Do you know where --- went?' hahaha.
This is also about the time where Leslie became the other VERY BEST PERSON EVER in my life. We were talking with Nathan and Leslie about food for whatever reason and Haley and I were talking about being broke, so she gave us money. She wouldn't take it back, no matter how much we insisted we couldn't take it.

So Heather and i went to a cheesesteak restaurant but it was like 80 bucks just for a sammich (exaggerating just a bit) so i just got some chicken strips (the fries and coke were included in the price so that was cool) and had to wait forever.
But when i got back to the venue, MATT WAS JUST LOITERING AROUND WITH HALEY, LESLIE, AND NATHAN OH MAN. Haley looked a little bit like she was going to swoon XD he was like 'oh, chicken strips, huh?' and stupidly went 'want one?' even though i FUCKING KNOW HE'S A VEGETARIAN UGHHhh. but we commiserated over not liking honey mustard and they lold over me getting it all over my hand and not having a napkin and the face i made over having to lick it off my finger so there's that ahhhh.
Then Leslie and Nathan petered off, but Matt stayed behind and just HUNG OUT WITH US FOR A FEW MINUTES. Literally just chilled with us and talked a bit, though he was obvs distracted cause he was waiting for his friends to come but STILL. He literally couldve waited somewhere else but he sat with us. that was just a good fucking feeling.
i tried to get a stalker shot of him just hanging out, but haley noticed me and smiled haha. she doesnt like this pic, but i think it's fucking adorable. look how HAPPY she is. <33333

This is also when i had my first encounter with Hunter. He's a quiet guy, he didnt spend much time talking with us, but he made sure we knew he appreciated us on the last night. But i asked him if he'd enjoyed the chocolate (since nathan had told me that he'd been pigging out on the chocolate a LOT) and he looked a bit sheepish and said 'totally. it was really hard to get up, though, i dont digest sugar really well'. LOL. what the fuck does one even say to that? XD lololol i apologised but said i was glad he liked it, lmao.
then we helped them play the WHO IS WHERE game for awhile, cause nathan was waiting for people to soundcheck but as soon as he went to go get food they decided it was time to do the soundcheck :| lol.
That's when Kristin showed up! I met her at the Jersey Alk3 show! Her and Vie! They hung out with us! And the venue moved the line which was a pain in the butt and we kept having to be like UM END OF THE LINE IS OVER THERE. and funny people walking past us and there was one vehicle full of dudes that took a picture of us? umm.
This one scene girl walked past and was like OMG THIS IS THE LINE, SKIBA YOU FAIL and we were ready to maim her. Especially when later on she was going to the show and had a FASTPASS skip the line ticket. UMMM. (more on this bitch later)
nathan came to find us after that, actually came looking for us!!, and actually showed us PICTURES OF HIS CAT ON HIS PHONE because he is amazing. And the kids from philly showed up and we introduced Nathan to kirstin and vie and let this weird young kid talk to us about alk3 and matt and stuff and he was def a fanboy in the making. it was adorable.
ok this is getting mega long but it was a long and weird and SUPER AWESOME day!
So the scene girl i was bitching about ended up front and center in front of matt. right next to haley and i. UGH. CAN I JUST SAY UGH. First of all, she didnt even know who matt was. She had no idea alk3 even existed. Even though i would think itd talk about it on any of the write-ups, at least? second of all, she was sucking a light up pacifier and asking us about BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR DDDDDX (we looked horrified, i'm sure.) and thirdly, COMPLETE LACK OF CONCERT ETIQUETTE. Sitting between sets, putting her HEAD DOWN DURING THE OPENERS, and then she was taking pictures of herself and her friend DURING the Sekrets. WTF. She ended up leaving part way through the set though. But still, really? ughhh.
OK SO. THE SHOW.
The first band was a local band called The Make and they were super boring. Though they explained that their bassist had eaten POT PEAS and it made the rest of the set a bit more enjoyable because watching him be SUPER FUCKING HIGH was hilarious XD
SMOKING POPES SMOKING POPES. They'd arrived late so i didnt get to talk to them before the show but that was ok I danced my face off anyways! If you EVER EVER EVER have a chance to see the Smoking Popes i would HIGHLY recommend it. They're always a good show. They just have FUN, you know?

NOW ONTO THE SEKRETS OMG. They were phenomenal that night. So much better then cleveland and chicago already! It was nice to have the break and have a barricade that night. I danced and bounced and had the fucking time of my life <3 it was GREAT

then AFTER THE SHOW! I saw Leslie and got a hug <3 (she slapped my back right where my tattoo is, im glad it was healed XD) we also got hugs and stuff from nathan! He came and sat with us and just chilled with us for quite awhile! I gave him my email address so he could send me and email if he needed us to bring him anything in Cambridge lol. He just sends me music now, though. NOT COMPLAINING! But then he gave us hugs cause he was leaving because his friends from San Fran were in the same city on complete coincidence haha! Talked to Josh Caterer and was awkward at him again, haha.
I also met the dude from The Holy Mess! lol. He was so drunk XD WASTED. but it was cool to see him there.
We sat around being dumb and people watching (holy moley really trashy people were out in DROVES after midnight!) and talking to this young kid that was there with his dad who was basically the raddest kid ever. He's gonna grow up to be an awesome dude.
Matt didn't come out that night which is ok, we got lots of Sekrets love instead! We walked back the car since we still had a 4 hour drive home and there were two different weaves in the same space in the parking lot XD SOMEONE HAD BEEN FIGHTING! haha.
It was a long drive. We got a little loopy through The jersey turnpike, haha.
Haley was mystified that Jersey was just as dirty as she heard it was. Yes it is <3
