the last great show i saw was sunday night; my friend elisabeth and i went out and saw two local bands and one who recently relocated to chicago. the whole night was amazing and we spent too much money on merchandise and i got a beer spilled on me.

they were all completely spectacular.
the last great cd i listened to was probably the elanors' cd, which i bought the other night. but i'm done with being an advertisement now. what's your favorite book?

wow, it's hard for me to pick a favorite book. a few that come to mind: The Diamond Age (Neal Stephenson), Resurrection (Tolstoy), The Giving Tree (Silverstein). Reading The Sailor who Fell from the Grace with
the Sea right now and it's interesting.

these elanors tunes are pretty. thanks for the heads up.

favorite film?

almost famous - the director's cut, usually. that's the one i always claim as my favorite, if i have to choose. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, the virgin suicides, the royal tenenbaums are some others.

yours?

Brazil, The Straight Story, Rushmore, Fargo, Big Lebowski.

I've never seen the director's cut of Almost Famous. Is it drastically different from the original release?

mostly - it features a scene where they celebrate penny's birthday. and that's what i love the most.
