Once again: been very busy!
It is so funny how things go. At one point you don't have a job nor friends with whom to spend all that time you have. Then you get a job, and you get more friends....and another job again and other new friends. Suddenly you are very busy and unable to keep in touch with your friends as much as you would like to. Hmm, how did that now happen?
In my previous job there were a lot of other Finns so finally I got to know some Finns who live in Holland. Last night we even went out to eat together (boyfriends/husbands included) so we were a group of 14. We went to a Japanese restaurant Konnichi Wa (I believe that was the name) in Utrecht and had so much fun together. I even missed the last train and Hans had to come pick me up. He didn't come for the dinner because he was sick :( But then the poor guy had to come to Utrecht anyway to pick me up. Oh well, I had already found myself a place to crash for the night but my sweetie wanted to pick me up anyway. It was such a wonderful evening: the food was great and the company was great as well. I hope we can do that soon again.
Then sometime ago Hans got to know a Finnish woman through his work and she even lives in the same town as we do so last Sunday we went for a visit. Into did his best charming everyone (and succeeded) and we had a wonderful time together. Tomorrow evening we go again :) Actually I wanted to keep this weekend all to ourselves but they have a computer problem that Hans can fix and besides, they live close so we can just drop by when we go for a walk with Into.
I also would love to find time to meet some of my other friends (you know who you are :) Any suggestions?
About my new job: hmm, I am not completely happy after the first week. Not really about work as such but... Long story. It just seems a bit difficult to fit in as a foreigner. But okay, it was just the first week so it is too early to say much. Also, I have been sick all week so I didn't feel that good at all. I actually even had to stay home on Wednesday because Tuesday evening I had quite high fever. Normally I would have stayed home also on Thursday but as this was just my first week in a new job, I just couldn't stay home longer.
The best news of the week: Aika is pregnant! Aika is the bitch that Into mated with on 2 and 3 January :) Now we all just hope everything goes well and there will be many cute and healthy Lapphund puppies born in March. In the meantime Into has been asked for a second mating, which happens when the bitch gets in heat next time. Popular guy, huh?
Oh, and we have been planning our summer trip to Finland. Or actually, it will be autumn trip because it will take place only in September. Nothing is sure yet but the plan is to spend almost three weeks in Finland at the end of August till mid September. And possibly we will spend one week in Lapland this time! YAY for that!
