A sudden matter has cropped up. I have a flight to catch tonight and will not be back until the middle of next week (or so I hope). Rent has been paid, so has all the bills. I have left grocery money on the kitchen counter. Do not use it to purchase confectionary, Rukia.
Today has been quite hectic. It appears that I am to help out in the auction. The blonde... Ino managed to extract the promise out of me. I am still unclear as to exactly what I am doing, so if you could please clarify, that would be much appreciated.
[Private to Rukia]
Rukia, certain legal issues have cropped up in the company and my presence has been requested in New York. it should be easy to clear up, but I suspect foul play and have decided to check it out for myself. Our relatives are up to no good, as usual. Eat your vegetables. I will return next week. You know my cell number if you need to reach me.
[Private to Ichigo]
Kurosaki, a sudden matter has cropped up and I have to leave Rukia on her own for a week, perhaps a week and a half. I am entrusting her to your care. Do not disappoint me. Make sure she eats something other than sweets. Do not let her out of your sight.
[Private]
This is tiring. I thought I had tied up all my loose ends, but somebody keeps going back and undoing the knots. I have had to notify my advisor and all the professors in my classes that I will not be around for the first few days of class, and maybe even the first week of class. I am lucky that my advisor was quite understanding and that I have some rapport with my professors. A dispensation was given and I have secured the homework, chapters to be read and lesson and lecture plans for the first week for Functional Analysis; the professor in charge of Algebraic Geometry has been quite stubborn though, but I managed to acquire the syllabus from him at least. Acquiring textbooks has eaten into this month's budget quite heavily. I shall have to redo the budget for next year.
When it rains, it pours, indeed it floods. Between securing places in my classes, my lesson plans and other items for my class had to be transmitted to my advisor who is covering my class for me while I am gone. Again, another mad scramble. I had thought that I had a few more days to work on it. And on the way back, an annoyingly loud girl comes upon me and harangues me into agreeing to help her with her auction. Despite my insistence that I did not deal with human trafficking and that my expertise with auctions had more to do with buying rather than selling, it was simply easier to agree and get out of it at a later date.
Infuriatingly, the relatives and lawyers insisted that not only I, but Rukia had to make an appearance at the company. What of it? I do not see why Rukia's presence was needed, and stated so quite firmly. A few strongly worded emails and phonecalls quickly nipped that notion in the bud. I see that they have planned a coup d'etat of sorts. I shall not help. If that peroxide blonde wishes to run the company into the ground with her machinations, I wash my hands off the matter. When I was around, they were only interested in increasing the sums of their allowances, and not in our welfare. It seems the legal battle over the will still rages strong, and both parties are manoeuvring themselves into position for the fight. What juveniles they all are.
My flight is in three hours. I need to go. I hear the airports have increased their security because of the splanned terrorist attacks.
