Yay! Another intense and thrilling chapter. I need a larger vocabulary soon. I almost feel bad for the Joker. Like in TDK when the boats ended up not blowing each other up. The disappointed look on his face is the first sign of insecurity he's shown and it makes him seem fragile all of a sudden. That's the image you created as well. Well done.
Also, I love your Alfred. I told another writer that there isn't nearly enough great Alfred in the fandom, and yours is truly in character. I can just picture that stiff British upper lip when he's miffed *G*
Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to stress; Joker unnerves people because he's not afraid of the usual things, so people assume he's fearless and emotionless. He also likes to think he is. He most definitely isn't completely fearless and without anxieties, his are just hidden and unusual. He doesn't mind losing control, but he doesn't like unforeseen outcomes happening, especially when it ruins his plans for fun.
There's another phobia happening at the same moment, but I can't reveal the details on that yet.
ALFRED NEEDS MORE LOVE. <3 I love his dry, British humor. Loony and I need to watch more episodes and get lovely ideas for him...
