another interesting piece.
In france there's Pierre-Marie Delfieux who also
wants to live amongst the people. And here in Belgium
we have the brothers in the woods that are living a poor
simple life, inspired by Francis.

but it's true: it's hard to maintain that original spirit
if you look at what usually happens. but this has been
happening ever since the first people fled to the dessert
when the church became one with the state. and just look
at the Franciscan order which was already being reformed
while he was still alive, just because a lot of brothers
were not willing to live the poor life like he saw it.

But if you look at the crisis now in vocations then you
will see that congregations and orders now are small, just
because no new people are joining. The franciscan monestary
overhere recently stopped and closed the doors because there
were only a couple of elderly brothers left that could not
even take care of themselves anymore. but you also see young
people living a voluntary poor life; following Jesus but not
the vatican. that can be a
