Jennifer is babysitting tonight, and I'm here at my house doing nothing. My grandparents did arrive, however; they can't make it to the show which aint cool. There is an upside to all of this...for dinner my mother made chicken marinated in hot sauce. And it is delicious!
Folks. I really just don't have alot to write about today. I feel really lame writting these short posts. I gotta get something better out there. I think I will try having something more exciting happen to me. Although I really can't complain. I have had alot of good things happen to me.
Woohoo! I love creative writting. I had to do my "observe a complete stranger for twenty minutes" assignment. SO HERE YOU GO: I'M POSTING IT.
The Surly Cashier
By Mike DiGirolamo
For twenty long minutes I observed a nameless surly cashier. I nicknamed him Earl. For the first five minutes all he did was stand there and occasionally scratch himself. He ran the automatic customer use registers. This was at Fry’s by the way. His boss would periodically check in with him about something. They would talk and talk and argue and then his boss would grab the phone next to Earl and begin talking furiously with someone. Earl would stand there with a blank expression. He didn’t say a lot. The next ten minutes comprised of him ringing out customers and handing them their receipts. I didn’t want to seem to suspicious so I helped myself to a cheesecake in the nearby bakery. I kept a close eye on our friend Earl as he did absolutely nothing. Five minutes to go and Earl still had yet to do something interesting. But lo! What is this? Earl actually smiled and chatted with an old woman for almost more than five lines. This was over rather quickly however. I proceeded to check out my items. Earl’s boss relieved him of his duties for a short fifteen minute break. That was the last that I saw of Earl.
I'm done here...
