The dancing seemed to go on forever by the time a slow dance came along. Adam looked around awkwardly and began to walk off the dance floor knowing that Bianca wouldn't want to have his hands on her.
As he took a step away, Bianca grabbed him by the hand, to his surprise, "Please dance with me?"
Adam scanned her face, finding only sincerity within it. Adam simply nodded and with some hesitation took her by the hips as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Slowly they danced in a circle, looking gawky and weird.
Bianca laughed at Adam's obviously confused face, "I bet you never thought we'd be here, huh?"
Adam smirked, "Well, calling me a freak isn't the best way to gain you favor"
Bianca's smiled fell. A pause swept between them before Bianca looked Adam in the eyes, "Adam - I'm really sorry I was such a bitch. I don't have a lot of friends... I don't really know how to act around people."
"Well," Adam said, not breaking eye contact, "It's easier to catch flies with honey rather than vinegar..."
Bianca cocked an eyebrow, "What?"
Adam laughed, "...I don't know - My mom used to say it to me when I had trouble making friends when I started-"
Adam hesitated. Rocky territory. Bianca filled in, "...becoming yourself?"
Finally breaking eye contact, Adam smiled as he looked at the floor, embarrassed, "...yeah"
Bianca took one of her hands, and as she placed it under Adam's chin and lifting it to make eye contact, "I was being stupid. I'm really sorry for being homophobic."
Adam smirked, "Transphobic"
Bianca cocked her eyebrow again in confusion.
"Transphobic. Not liking trans people is transphobic. I'm not gay so it wouldn't be homophobic."
"Right, sorry, I'll learn it, I promise," she said, as her gaze lingered over to Drew. Adam looked in the direction Bianca was looking and instantly knew what was going through her head.
"You still love him, don't you?"
It was Bianca's turn to look down now, "I never stopped."
"...this Vince guy must be even worse than Drew lets on then..."
Bianca nodded, "I'm just glad it's over now. I'm ready to move on."
Adam and Bianca just danced, slowly circling each other. Bianca leaned her head onto Adam's shoulder and closed her eyes. In that one moment, that one flawless, warm moment, Bianca's life felt perfect. Adam held her tighter, feeling the need from her heartbeat - from her breath. The music pulsed through their feet and all at once it truly felt like life would be getting better.
Bianca lifted her head and looked into Adam's eyes, "Thank you Adam, for this, I know it probably hasn't been easy for you."
"You're a great guy," she went on, "Complete gentleman"
And with that, Bianca leaned in and it was all Adam could do to close his eyes. Her lips were soft and her breath was sweet. Adam's pulse quickened and she leaned into him. Bianca opened her eyes and saw Drew standing at the entrance - Vince standing in front of him.
She broke from her kiss, rushing past Adam and up to Drew. Adam, in his confusion, followed trying to make sense of the situation before he finally saw Vince. When he walked up, Vince and Drew were already shouting at each other.
Suddenly, Adam felt a piercing agony in his shoulder and stomach. Collapsing to the ground, Adam could make out that Vince had run. People began surrounding him - Bianca knelt next to him, placing pressure on the wound. Drew and Katie came running up behind, tears in their eyes.
"Katie, watch Adam, I'm going to go finish this," Bianca said
Adam took her hand, gasping between breaths, "No, please, don't leave me."
Drew looked down at them, "Stay with him, I'll go."
Bianca looked up at Drew, then down at Adam who was wincing from the pain, "Finish this."
Drew ran out the door, taking the gun on the floor. Katie was on his heel.
Adam was crying. Bianca was too, "Bianca, I'm scared."
"Don't be - You've been through worse, ok? You'll be fine, just try and calm down."
"Please don't leave me," Adam pleaded.
Bianca squeezed his hand and leaned over to kiss his forehead, "I won't."

Blahhh, I don't know if this is what you were looking for. I'm not the greatest writer but I loved the prompt. I hope you at least like it a bit.
