I think if it's implied by the narrative then yeah, it's okay. I mean it can be har to separate "implied" with "teased by the writers who make the character ultimately heterosexual" (oy) but use your judgement, and you should be fine. :)

Just a small niggle: "transgender" (and "cisgender") are adjectives and not verbs, and so should not be "transgendered" (or "cisgendered") in the same way we don't say a person is "gayed" "blacked" or "femaled". People may self-identify in such a way but addressing trans* folk as a whole the "ed" is iffy. (There's some more info on this in an article by Joanne Herman for the Huffington Post here, if anyone wants further reading.)
