"I'd Rather Be Green Than Blue"
No, I really wouldn't... I'd still rather bleed maroon, as Jae chickenbarbecue calls it! ;)
(I was actually going to say, "I still love it that I've been marooned," but decided that the double meaning is TRICKY. Hehehe, kidding.)
Now I've always watched the La Salle-Ateneo - or Ateneo-La Salle, if you will - rivalry with much interest. Sometimes I take sides (more often with one side, hahaha!). Some other times, I take pot shots similarly at both schools (akala mo naman kung sinong magaling 'to no?)... but most of the time, I just sit back and watch the rivalry unfold before me with much, much interest. Because really, as someone who has no first hand connection (second, third, fourth hands are another story) to both schools, that's all I can really do. :)
But ohmylord, THIS VIDEO (ahem, called "I'd Rather Be Green Than Blue") SERIOUSLY TAKES THE CAKE! Talk about low blow! What I found the most atrocious reference?
ahem, the lines that went, "...Bakit binaril si Rizal? Atenista kasi!" Hello. Lay off the national hero naman and find better insults!
Other than that, I thought it was interesting to say the least. But if you're an overly sensitive person, and especially if you're easily offended by all references to the now legendary school rivalry between the two, don't bother watching the video. Ako nga eh hindi Atenista napikon sa Rizal reference... :P (BTW, the video was made by CSB students daw. In fairness, diba may Multimedia Arts specialty doon? :P)
I cannot wait for an Atenean response, just to fan the flames... but wait! On second thought... may papatol ba diyan? :P
Meanwhile, I shall sit back, relax and keep watching the drama unfold, like I always do. It's an amusing kind of juvenility. I mean, why invest that much time and resources on something you so obviously hate? Or do you really hate them, when everything to do with why you love your own has to do with how you hate the other! Kinda ironic, if you ask me. :P
Hehehe, mapuputol na ata dila ko sa sobrang daming :P sa post na 'to! Obviously, may ipinahihiwatig silang mga :P :P!!!! hehehehe!
It would be interesting to show this to my sister the La Sallian and my bro-in-law the Atenean. Hehehe. There's still some amusing school rivalry sparks between the two of them whenever there's a La Salle-Ateneo, or an Ateneo-La Salle basketball game (which we all know we won't see this year, awww).
Pero alam mo, if someone made a similar video against UP I probably would have written a litany against it. Then again, maybe I wouldn't waste my time at all... matutulog na lang ako kasi kulang ako ng tulog lately. :P Could go both ways, but more of the latter after one tiny bit of the former (with one stinging, blistering reply! hehehe kidding)... *shrugs*
Speaking of tulog... susubukan na ngang matulog! Sorry for the lack of organization of thoughts!
