(from fic page)

My Review:
A wonderful little one-shot - or not so little, I guess. It's got the 'quick-read' quality that's great about one-shots, but also has enough meat to leave you feeling satisfied. Not that it doesn't leave you wanting to read more, because it certainly does that - it's just also got the fulfilled quality of some of the best long-fics.

The characterizations are absolutely perfect! The author manages to strike a wonderful balance between the unsure, easily agitated hanyou that we all know and love, as well as the deeper, intelligent being that we all also know is lurking just beneath the surface. And all this without falling into either of the typical fanfiction extremes - making Inuyasha out to be a stupid, immature eleven-year-old, or casting him as an aged, world-wise demon lord. Instead, we get only a slight taste of both, often at the exact same time. This makes our favorite hanyou seem three-dimensional and real, but also lends a crispness and liveliness to the writing that is not often seen in fanfiction.

The 'plot' is simple, but also manages to address some of the oldest and most important issues in the Inuyasha fandom:
1) Inuyasha's relationship with Kikyou and Kagome, and how they relate to each other
2) the more instinct-driven inu-youkai half of Inuyasha's heritage and how it affects daily life for him (especially when it comes to a certain school-girl from the future ;P)
3) Inuyasha's literacy level (this one just bugs me if it's not done right - and it's done right here!)
4) Kouga. Enough said.
5) Kikyou's death - and whether it's Inuyasha's fault or not :D
6) And of course, how everything from the quest to our favorite pairings is going to end - because you know we've all thought about it ;)

I'm not going to go into just how DelKaidin addresses each of these issues, or what conclusions she comes to in the fic - you'll have to read it yourself to find that out! But I will say this - it is pure genius. Absolutely inspired. Definitely one of my favorites ;)
