...I'm going to be honest, here. Way back when during the body switching fiasco? It bothered Ikkaku more than anyone, including myself, thought it would.

But if something happened right now, Ikkaku wouldn't be too affected by it, actually. It'd be a case of keeping a stiff upper lip. Ikkaku's got a bit on his mind these days, he can distract himself, put on his brave face and really advocate any of Yumichika's decisions because in his mind that's the most natural thing to do. Because Death and people saying "I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO YUMICHIKA" is not having a positive effect on him. It annoys him, more than anything, and makes him reaffirm to himself that their relationship is not codependent.

I think he'd be alright, for the most part, because he has a bit of a conscious influence on those kinds of feelings. He'd...do his very best not to let it affect him, anyway. He doesn't want to have any kind of monopoly over Yumichika. Since he doesn't think he has any monopoly over Yumichika. At all.

Also, yes. Lacus tops the universe.

...he doesn't really realize it, no. He's vaguely aware of the fact that Yumichika would disapprove of his thing with Rey, but he doesn't comprehend why, or how, and Yumichika just hating Rey isn't a good reason, and, no, Ikkaku doesn't know why Yumichika hates Rey either. Yumichika barely factors into his relationship with Rey.

But if he actually did realize that it hurts Yumichika?

It's also hilarious because back when Yumichika found out about the thing with Rey and there was emo and bitching and more emo I was like "Aahh, finally Ikkaku understands!"

The essay was pretty long but basically the only person Ikkaku will listen to about Yumichika's feelings is Yumichika himself. Anyone else tries to lecture him on that subject? He gets snarly and irritated. Because CHRIST, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU KNOW--yes, that kind of outburst.
