(no subject)
today was a good day for skateboarding. i decided yesterday that my skate shoes were done for, so today i drove to greenville and picked up two pair of shoes and an extra deck, since the one i'm skating now is starting to crack and i'm not sure how much longer it's going to last. once i got back to rocky mount, it was about three oclock and i took my board out to a couple spots near my hotel and did some warming up and breaking in of my new skate shoes. that was pretty nice. i hadn't skated those spots yet, but i had definitely been looking at them. so after that, i drove out to the skatepark. when i got there it was pretty packed with lots of kids, but i decided to stay anyway and just skate around a little when i got the chance.
so these new shoes felt great, and apparently i CAN ride a skateboard after all. i had a blast, and for a while, there weren't hardly any kids there at all and i was free to actually skate a little. spent a couple hours there, since the weather was nice, and came back to my room just a minute ago. i think lauren and i are going to ham's tonight. $1.50 draft all summer long. can't argue with that. i might have to ride my skateboard, haha.
and apparently i found the rest of rocky mount, and i realized that it's not that bad of a town and it's not as run-down and ghetto as i had previously thought. i just live in kinda the industrial district. hahaha. oh well.
i'm having a really good day today.
