This is where I am.
Well, not at this exact moment because it's a little late. But this is a snapshot of where I was this afternoon. I'm sure I'll have better pictures to share as the week goes on, but this was one I snapped with my phone to message to folks and make them jealous. I know, I'm a real friend aren't I??
In any event, I made it down to Sarasota. After clocking just a few hours of sleep last night, my fantastic brother-in-law took me to the airport at crazy-o'clock in the morning. I made it to the gate with plenty of time to spare. However, because of a slight delay I just barely made my connecting flight. I probably would have been reduced to a very tired puddle of tears had I missed it. I slept most of the second flight and arrived in a very very sunny beautiful Sarasota!
I've already booked some beach time as the picture above would indicate. Buying an ipod right before this trip was a smart move. It was fantastic on the first flight -- I watched two episodes of Scrubs I'd downloaded, and listened to some tunes. It was really great when I was out on the beach.
My time on the beach was superb! It is hot but not blazing like it was last July when I was here. There is a gentle gulf breeze and it felt so fantastic as I was laying out. It is soothing and gorgeous, and absolutely what I needed right now. Last night at youth group we discussed ways to relieve stress. I think I've found mine. Gulf breeze, please!
