So, given that I read the blogs and vote in their very special edition of "March Madness,", I can sometimes be a bit of spiritandsong.com geek.
But I found something today that made me laugh so hard I was crying.
OCP Ringtones.
Several of the S&S artists (S&S is the hip young Catholic label under OCP) have their ringtones there. Which is the first thing that made me laugh. Because really, who doesn't yearn for "Your Grace is Enough" in midi form, wailing from their cell phone? And although you may have heard "Trading My Sorrows" a million times by now, don't you want it right at your fingertips?
However, what had me in hysterics was the fact that people might actually want "Be Not Afraid" as their ringtone. Let's be real. That's funeral music, people! As much as I love the Blessed Virgin Mary, you won't hear "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" trumpetting my incoming calls anytime soon.
Having said that, I would fall out of the pew if I heard someone's cell phone go off during Mass and the ring was "Here I am, Lord."
