And so this is Christmas...
*I was going to make everyone Slip CD's for Christmas but I left my CD drive at school. I rock.
*Got some good shit today. Best gift was a digital camera. Also got a sick Beatles shirt I'm wearing right now.
*Last night we got together at my Aunt Margerets with my moms side of the family. Played poker and talked about smoking pot. It was entertaining, though I think I was the only one from my immediate family that thought so. My cousin Kyle was demanding that my Aunt Margeret hit a bong at least once in her life ("Your son has some right upstairs, we could go hit it right now. Who wants to go smoke some pot?") Kyle's mom responded with this: "Kyle, you're so awesome [drunken laughter]."
I love my moms side of the family, especially my cousins and my aunt Berni (who made fun of my sister for choosing not to drink or have sex). Kyles having a big party on January 7th at her house. I can't wait.
*My dads side of the family is going to start coming over any time now. They're not at all like my moms side of the family. I'm prepared for a night of conversations about dogs and horses and other shit I don't care about. I'll probably just hang out in the basement with my cousin James, who's like the only cool person on that side of the family (who doesn't live in New Mexico). I was supposed to go to my dads sisters with that his side of the family this morning too, but I just went back to sleep after opening my presents instead. I then continued to sleep through dinner even after my parents apparently tried to wake me up three times. That's what happens when I get woken up at 7 am, shit.
*I really wish I had my CD drive. I was going to make a copy of the Pearl Street show for everyone that was there and a copy of the 4-18 show in Boston that ended in the impromptu crowd clapping jam for everyone that was at that show, plus a mix CD of good songs everyone should have. Consider this a rain check...
*Got my first CYO game of the season tomorrow. Can't wait to be playing basketball again.
*After everyones gone tonight I wanna hang out with the crew from back home - been busy with work and the holidays and still haven't gotten to hang out with them yet.
*Next week is going to be sick. Two concerts with tons of friends from school and back home. It's going to be absolute craziness, I can't wait. I've been looking forward to this for so long.
