Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got til it's gone

so i am home, not really by choice, but because i have to be here. it feels weird to be here, i guess just since i am not really suppose to be. i dunno. but anyway, for those of you who don't know, this is what i have been up to the past several weeks.

two days ago i got out of the hospital. i was in the hospital for 12 days total. i was in the Intensive Care Unit for 7 days and in just a normal ward of the hospital for the remaining 5 days.  They finally determined the cause of my illness was Toxic Shock Syndrome. But much much more was wrong with me than just that.  The toxic shock lead to septic shock which basically means infection had taken over my entire body and all of my organs began shutting down.  My kidneys no longer worked, my blood pressure was extremely low, i had a fever of 104, my heart rate was extremely fast, it was all very scary.  but anyway, this septic shock lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome which means my lungs stopped working, so i had to be put on a respirator for 3 1/2 days.  and yes i was in a medically induced coma for most of this. so i don't know everything that happened but the parts i do remember are HORRIBLE! i hope NO ONE ever has to go through what i went through. it was awful. but i am on the road to recovery. i am feeling much better and i can't wait until i am all back to normal.

thanks to everyone for your prayers.  they told me that people that come in to the hospital with septic shock only have a 50/50 chance of living and that the only reason as to why i lived was because of how young i was, that had i been older i wouldn't have.  but i believe that it was the prayers that got me through. i honestly do.

i am kind of screwed in the school department because of all of this, so if you could keep me in your prayers that i am able to finish out the semester that would be fantastic.

i get to see my bestest friends because i am home...THAT IS A VERY VERY GOOD THING. yaaaaaaaaay!!!
