3 exams done. I still have 2 left. I am bored again, haha.
Yesterday I had Anthropology and it went better than expected. I studied with Kathryn and two of her suitemates for two hours beforehand until I couldn't fit anymore information into my brain. I'm hoping I didn't fuck anything up horribly. It would be nice if I got a B+ in there but I'd settle for a B. An A- would be a minor miracle but it's still possible. We'll see.
Today I had Linguistics at 8am (too fucking early), and it went fine. I really liked that class this semester. I should get at least an A- in there. My professor likes me a lot so hopefully she'll go easy if I fucked up a little, hehe. After that I got lunch and took a short powernap before my English exam which was three goddamn essays we had to write and I thought my hand was going to fall off or implode or something. Seriously, fuck carpal tunnel. I think I should devise some sort of system so that we can take essay tests on computers (we can't for obvious cheating-related reasons), because that was bullshit. But yeah, that exam went well too. I was the first one done, which was surprising since there were people in that class who tried a hell of a lot harder all semester than I did. I even went a little crazy, because one of our options was to make up our own essay question and answer it, and I did that, which surprised even me. I usually play it safe on stuff like that but I was feeling like living dangerously. Whatever, I'm expecting a B+ or somewhere thereabouts in that class anyway. And I am never taking another English class again. Fuck that noise.
Tomorrow I have Russian which should be cake. Chris and I are studying tonight after dinner, probably with Rebecca. After that it's 4 days of freedom (and by "freedom" I of course mean "hardcore base/prefix/suffix/combining form/vocab word memorization") and then Etymology on Monday. And then like a week of "vacation." And then summer school. I'm actually pretty excited about summer school. One class each session, easy 6 hour/week job, and hopefully lots of time to read/refresh my knowledge of French/hang out with Chris.
My birthday weekend was awesome. Friday night I went to get coffee with Chris and his dad, then we went to Chris's house to hang out a little bit with his sister (who is adorable and the smartest 4-year-old you'll ever meet). Then Chris took me to Carrabba's for dinner which was fucking awesome. We had a fabulous dinner and he even surprised me by getting the waiters to sing to me (in Italian!) and do the whole "free birthday dessert" thing. I've never had a boyfriend do that for me. I felt very special =). Afterwards we saw Sin City which was a very excellent and well-made movie. I think I am gonna pick up the graphic novels because I really like the story. That was pretty much all we did Friday night...we were exhausted by the time we got back to Chapel Hill, haha. It was definitely the best birthday in recent memory. My boyfriend is awesome =)
Saturday my parents came to visit and took Chris and me out to dinner. They gave me a TV/DVD player combo and a microwave for my birthday (since said items that are in my room right now are Karen's) and they also bought me lots of food to sustain me through exams. Then Saturday night Chris and I went to the 80's dance at Cat's Cradle (a club in Carrboro). It was soooo much fun. We definitely got our groove on, and Chris did a little Rubik's cube demonstration on stage and everyone was very impressed (that is why we went in the first place, so he could do the demo as a favor for a friend, but it just ended up being fun as an added bonus =P). All in all a great night.
Well, time to chillax some more before dinner avec mon cheri.
