compatibility quirks.

Finally, I would like to make the Devil cross-canon compatible! However, this is not possible for all cases when the Devil shows up in other canons, such as Angel Sanctuary, or is heavily referenced, such as Supernatural. If for some reason the different worlds card needs to be played, then tell me so she can be appropriately not clued in on the ( Read more... )

I'd say...probably not in DDS? There's no Devil, just God (who's more drawn from Hinduism than Christianity), so it's theoretically possible! But when God's destroying the earth and the demon virus is turning humanity into cannibal demons, the Devil seems a little redundant. And there's only one afterlife, so...I'm really inclined to say the Devil doesn't exist in DDSverse.

Satan is an optional boss though -- you have to be in a second playthrough, otherwise your party is "overcome by despair" and is turned away -- but he's there!

I'd forgotten about him! Probably because I am way too lazy to beat another one of Megaten's "You're going to die. Repeatedly. Even at level 99 with maxed-out stats. AND WE WILL MOCK YOUR PAIN" optional bosses XD

But yeah, that could easily mean the Devil exists in DDS!

Yeah, given that's he's an atlus optional boss, I am completely willing to BELIEVE being overcome by despair and turning back. I mean, that's just a good call, right there. |D

Exactly! "What you mean the idea of fighting someone who has spells that can hit you for 10x your HP, and you have to rely on sheer luck to leave a single person alive long enough to revive and heal while defending against still-brutal lesser attacks leaves them in despair? Well I guess I can't exactly ARGUE."

The only thing is that he's serving in his capacity as God's judge, not as a Lucifer analogue. So I don't know if he's the best example.
