111 - Radio Memory
[The radio cuts on to the sound of a few footsteps, on what sounds like metal, and then either Aim or Gene's voice, trying to sound lighthearted - it's hard to tell which, with only voice, but the Irish accent is distinct.]
"How long are you gonna be like that? It's not like you - I'd rather see you acting obnoxious like you usually are."
[Veda's voice now, harsh and angry - it's hard to tell if he's speaking to himself or to Aim/Gene]
"I've lost them"
"Hm?"
"I've lost the qualities I used to possess that made me a Meister... now that I can't link directly to Veda."
[A pause, and then Veda continues shakily. His voice cracks on the last word. Yes, Mr. Obnoxious sounds on the verge of tears.]
"I can no longer... I am... not worthy to be a Meister."
[There's a few footsteps and then Aim/Gene speaks again, sounding somewhat thoughtful.]
"So you think you're not worthy... I don't see any problem."
[A clearly surprised Veda]
"What?"
"So you can't link yourself to Veda. That's all. Think of it as becoming like the rest of us." [Aim/Gene sounds a bit amused by this,
Veda of course is back to business already.]
"The real problem is that someone has [static] of Veda. Without Veda, the plan just isn't..."
"We can continue it." [Of course, Aim/Gene sounds totally confident]
"With our Gundams... we're fighting to eradicate war."
"But the probability that we can carry out the plan is...!"
"Enough with the doubts and speculation. Just do it. There's a guy who'll set an example right near you. A fool who will give it his all to do what he believes."
[Veda sounds like he's talking to himself, rather than Aim/Gene - and that he's not certain of his words] "What he believes..."
[The footsteps on metal sound again.]
"Later! Go to your room and get some rest."
"Lockon!" [The footsteps stop] "I'm sorry..."
"It's like Miss Sumeragi told you. Everyone makes mistakes. Because we're just human beings."
[The transmission abruptly cuts out there. For those who know the twins very well, the voice might be identifiable as Aim's]
