So yesterday I went on a job-hunt. Well, it wasn't really a job-hunt because I ended up spending on frivolities too. But overall I did apply for a job.
Met Hui Jie, Yu Yun & Yi Ting at Pasir Ris Interchange, then we took off for Downtown East's Fish & Co. Express. After much consideration, I decided not to apply for a job there while the others filled up their forms. We also planned to catch "The Social Network" so we went to E!hub too. Unfortunately the movie was no longer showing in that cinema but we did something crazy which was to watch another movie when none of the choices appealed to us. Of course, an average person would choose to watch "Harry Potter" instead, but Yi Ting promised to watch the flick with her family. In the end, we chose to watch this movie called "RED" on a whim and bought the tickets. Little did we know that the film had pathetic appeal for all of us after we glimpsed at the movie poster.
We were in a state of distress at that time because tickets aren't refundable and so we had to resort to exchanging the tickets for another strip which admitted us for a different movie. Because we wouldn't watch "Megamind" (who would watch that, anyway), I rashly chose to watch "Harry Potter" and exchanged the tickets, forgetting Yi Ting's promise. So we were pretty much screwed after the exchange and started feeling guilty, but Yi Ting was eventually convinced that she could watch the second part with her parents (thank God HP7 comes in parts).
The movie was awesome (as expected). However, it didn't cover much of the plot. Well, the printed word will always be over its movie counterpart, that's for sure.
After the movie, we resumed job-hunting. Somehow, Yu Yun & I ended up meeting Yi Ren to apply for a job at Tampines 1's Subway while Hui Jie & Yi Ting tried their luck with the franchise at Simei. In the end, all of us filled our application forms. I really hope I do get the job! Although being a sandwich artist may prove to be a little too mundane, it still provides valuable working experience. But I wouldn't mind doing packaging, admin work or waiting on customers.
On to today - it was a simpler day. Spent the morning at Yu Yun's Hougang condo. Had a session with Joel, Ron & Hui Jie. After that we went up to her house to chill for a while before leaving. Yu Yun got herself a really pretty guitar that is coated in black. But she named it Bobo Devil. >_>
When evening fell I headed to Daryl's place for CGM. Today's meeting was fine, with Kenneth appearing again, hahaha. It's good that he's starting to spend more time with the East dwellers.
Stephen, along with the rest of my Indonesian cell group mates, will be leaving for their hometown next month. I'll miss them so. Speaking of Stephen, I had a rather entertaining conversation with him today. He has such a remote sense of humour.
This holiday is indeed a holiday for longing. Why is everyone leaving? :(
