Hartford's airwaves are a bit more empty.

At times, it seems like everything that is cool and special and unique to Hartford is specially targeted for removal or destruction. It's like the people who call the shots are hell-bent on establishing a baseline of homogenous mediocrity, when in fact highlighting and supporting the people, events, organizations and businesses that make this small city interesting and engaging may be the only hope of saving it from ruin.

I bring this up because the latest injustice that has been done to Hartford's shrinking buffet of local flavor is WTIC AM's cancellation of Colin McEnroe's daily radio show.

I'm listening to Colin's final show as I type this. I have been a listener and sometime caller for the past ten years and it became seamlessly integrated into my weekday routine. This was a terrible misstep on WTIC's part. I no longer have any reason to tune in 1080 AM, and I know I'm not alone on this one.
