* re-read

A Great and Terrible Beauty & Rebel Angels:  Beautifully written - Victorian spirit crackles in every page.  Kartik is sexy.  And a woot!yeah to the wonderful Libba Bray for a touch of femslash.  Can't wait till December.

Siddhartha:  Read for school at three o'clock in the morning, so I wasn't too thrilled.  I liked the river though.  It made me thirsty.

Abarat (1 & 2):  So, so, so great.  Trippy to the max.  I love Mr. Barker for his whack imagination.  And for creating a female character I really like.  But I seriously hope Carrion is not dead.  That would make me sad.  He was/is the shiz.

Nightmares and Fairytales: Not bad.  But it's one of those comic-type deals where one second the protagonist is in mortal danger - the chapter ends - and at the start of the next they're sipping tea and nibbling on crumpets while having their feet massaged by hunky men.  No explanation.  Or maybe I just missed it.  But otherwise it was good.

Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet:  The main girl annoyed me, but she got better.  Otherwise, I read it in one (school) night, which never happens these days.  So it was readable.  And well-written.  Not bad, not bad.  But still not my type of book.

Pride and Prejudice: *does the Mr. Darcy squee*  That is all.

Macbeth:  Blargh.  Please.  I love and respect Mr. Shakespeare as a writer (thank you, Merchant of Venice), but I wasn't even able to stay awake for the live performance of Macbeth by the Shakespeare Company in Stratford.  Plus, we had to act it out in class, which killed.  Especially given the fact that I played Macbeth as he had his head severed.  Oh, much fun, much fun.

Teacher's Pet:  Heh.  Heh.  My guilty pleasure cheap horror novel I happen to read at the same time, in the same place every year.  Our cabin and surroundings just remind me so much of the setting.  AND - Pierce Cronan is sex on legs - the Snape of the non-magical world, in a way.  RAWR, always loved that man, always.  A little crazy is good for (most) everyone.

HhGttG & RatEotU:  Love, love, love Mr. Adams to the end of the world and back.  I read the first four back in eighth grade before losing interest due to Lack of Zaphod and Marvin, but I definitely hope to finish reading all of them soon.  Zaphod is crazy-sexy [I'd take a look at his spaceship any day ;)] and Marvin is - Marvin.  And has Alan Rickman's voice in my head, which never hurts.  Guh. (*is still not over watching Die Hard the other night*)  But my favorite part of the series? - "May I interest you in parts of my body?"

Too great.
