Ok, so now that I'm an official member I just wanted to put that to good use..
and so reading the rules thing I got an idea to post some of my poetry. Though, they are lyrics, it's all the same thing in the end.
Anyway, I've written over 45 songs so I'm not going to post them all or anything, just the most recent one I've written.
ok.. so this is one of my most recents. Tell me what you think of them, please. The music is something along the lines of a mix of Brand New, Bright Eyes, and Modest Mouse styles...
Entitled
Take six and lie down for a few brief cries,
but don't act upon the reocurring until the memories subside
and if the enemy of the mind takes hold of your fear, just lay, just lay and lie.
Take five and insist that you'll soon be forgotten,
yet the times that we spend now are the most embedded in me,
from the times on the brink to the mellows of the soul.
It's how you've been wearing those watches to cover each wound,
since I told you time heals and you believed it was true.
Keep staring at clocks, in hopes of cleansing your impurity.
Rinse your faith with a bottle, some pills, and a coma.
(Take four and call me in a few long years)
Take four and call me in a few long years,
when your fears become dimished and you no longer coincide
with the parallel of the past that holds the outcome of lies.
Fake three and forget about these infallable tears,
the ones we spent choking on and dying for to make disappear
since we couldn't get the job done without a memory near.
It's how you've been wearing those watches to cover each wound,
since I told you time heals and you believed it was true.
Keep staring at clocks, in hopes of cleansing your impurity.
Rinse your faith with a bottle, some pills, and a coma.

It's just two more days until the final frontier.
Another stay in cheap housing to pay respect
until the day arrives when I repay these debts.
It's just one more fire to be rekindled in lieu
of the songs I sing in remembrence of truth,
until it all comes down to remembering you.
