several mini updates, statements, & questions

-- Seeing Meat Beat Manifesto tonight (but don't know anyone else that's going). I dig the new album... curious to see what kind of set list Jack picks out... he's got a lot to choose from.
-- Going to Yuri's Night tomorrow... Tejada, Amon Tobin, and Tipper are the biggest names (that I know of) on the bill. I've heard it's a strange mix of NASA employees and Burning Man people. I'm not sure where I fit in on that spectrum... probably more the NASA side.
-- I finally tossed Firefox to the curb. Sorry, but you got too fat.
-- Currently splitting my computer time evenly between my PowerBook and Tablet PC. Can't you guys mate already? (and no, 3rd party offerings don't count)
-- There are some extremely cool things in store for the internets this year... just you wait n' see.
-- Knee isn't doing any better... going to start doing some of those eccentric exercises I linked to in the knee post soon. Also, I miss running.
-- I had a blast in Seattle and did everything on my list and more. Your turn now Seattle to visit SF!
-- The weather today couldn't be any more perfect... looking forward to quality outdoors time this weekend.
-- I wish I had friends in SF that were down for doing regular movie nights. Also, I don't have any SF friends who like to play video games... I'm too much of a social gamer to play any of my latest Wii games on my own (Super Smash Bros & Link Crossbow).
-- I haven't ridden my bike in awhile, must make amends on that soon.
-- The John Medina Authors event I put together went beyond my expectations. We had a packed house and John was in rare form. I'll post the YouTube clip once it's up.
-- After a year+ of Twitter hateration, I gave in and have been using it regularly for the past few months. The mental leap I needed was to treat it like instant messaging, minus the interruption and immediacy. It's an easy way to get random brain farts out of your head. Sometimes I read friend's tweets, sometimes I don't... the reading expectation bar is much lower than a friend's blog or email... it's just there when you want to look at it. The addition of cool apps like Twitterific and Twhirl played a big part too in getting me to use it more. Now, if they'd only allow the ability to make sub groups... that would be hot (no, I won't use Pownce for this).
-- Twitter would be even better if more of you used it... it's one of those things that's only cool when people you care about are on there playing in the sandbox too. This does not deter the 10s of idiots that add me with their spam accounts daily though... they really need to fix that part of the experience.
-- On that note... why do only 4 people in the Bay Area use Dodgeball? Sure, they haven't added any features, but it still does what it needs to do until we all get GPS enabled phones which will take awhile.
-- I think the Flickr Video addition is awesome. Yeah, Flickr is a site about photos, but the 90 second limit and the seamless way they introduced it into the existing UI and tagging system doesn't really change how I used the site from before.
-- Does anyone have any tips for keeping their closet in order? It's the main area of my world that's constantly in disarray. Hanging up my clothes after a long day is the last thing I feel like doing, so everything ends up piling up on a chair. If they can make a Roomba, how far are we from a closet maintaining robot? Maybe they could make one that looks (and dances) like Mr. Rogers even...
