-- The new job is going great... my first project has lots of interesting problems to tackle and I really like my team. Being on main campus would be a paradise for someone with ADD. There's just so much going on every day... from lectures, to cooking classes, to fitness activities, the challenge for someone with a lot of interests is mainly just carving out chunks of time for focused work.
I can't remember another period in my life that was this go-go-go all the time. Even in grad school it wasn't like this. From the moment I wake up till I go to bed, the entire day feels jam packed with stuff. I know it's mainly due to the newness of everything to me out here... just trying to figure out a way to strike a balance. I'm having fun in the process, now if only I could find time for things like hunting down new music, reading, blog surfing, editing photos, etc.
-- Saw a sneak preview of
Sicko tonight. It's awesome. Sure, there are a lot of opposing viewpoints not represented in the film (the common complaint with Moore), but I really think it will elevate the health care discussion in this country to a much larger scale... and for that, the film is to be commended. Also, my desire to visit France is now tripled and now I have a desire to visit Cuba too.
-- California traffic sucks, it really really sucks. I know LA is even worse, but still, Seattle definitely spoiled me on that front. I'm looking forward to taking the shuttle again once I'm in SF so I can at least read or take a nap during the suckitude.
-- I'm going to see Skinny Puppy tomorrow night with
bdu... should be interesting to see what the SF goth/industrial crowd is like.
-- This weekend will be spent apartment hunting. The whole not having a real place to live thing is a bit stressful, but I've been told to be patient and that the process could take months. I'm just always in a mode of not liking where I live for one reason or another (too touristy, bad commute, too far away from social activitie and friends, etc)... it will be so amazing once I land in a spot that I'm actually thrilled to live in.
and now for some funnies...
