so my spanish prof. gives me a B+ for this pieza de mierda i wrote the night before...sans reading....with the most bestest grammatical error EVER: embarrassing, but too funny to omit from this thingy.... when trying to say "in relation to" or "pertaining to" i wrote, "a pesar de".... so why the big question marks every time that phrase was used?? because it means IN SPITE OF. oh wow.... so instead of saying "in relation to the role of women in 19th cent. Argentina" i instead say "in spite of the role of women, etc. etc."
[insert giggle, even though it's in front of the benevolent prof. who approaches me after class to encourage me in her Uraguan accent to "continue with the great ideas but develop my arguments a little more"]
it really shouldn't be so funny, but if i don't laugh i might shrivel with humiliation at my declining communicative skills. yeah...not my best work...by far.
