Real honest to goodness update:
We, as most of you know, have a party planned this weekend.
Odds are good you're invited. If you're not sure, ask. Anyone you vouch for is also invited. If y'all need directions, ask.
These parties always need a lot of work done in advance and require a big push on both M's time and mine.
M scheduled this Friday off to help get technical work done.
He also, last week, started an evening class in a subject which holds interest for him.
Also, last week, it was confirmed that there was a major project at work that for reasons about which I can only speculate, and won't discuss online*, isn't going to be done according to the process that's been worked out for such things, but is going to be done in such a way as to add to M's workload by more than 50%.
( * But ask me this weekend and odds are good you'll get an earful. Frankly I recommend not asking.)
So, as of last week, as we were getting into full-on party prep mode, M started taking a class (between class time, commute, and homework, that adds maybe 10-12 hours to his weekly schedule) and started putting in more than 60 hours a week at work.
He worked last weekend. He worked the weekend before that. He'll work this coming weekend. No, y'all read that right. He's gonna go in late on Friday and stay until after dark, throw a party all day Saturday and run three grills at once, then go back to work Sunday afternoon. I'm housecleaning and organizing and food prepping and blogging and feeling guilty about the blogging.
So for the people who keep asking what you can bring? Bring drinks (and enough to share), a good attitude, and a major set of hugs for M. You'll recognize him--he'll be the only actual walking dead there.
Also, thank Elvis for friends. This Moviegasm's only major disaster so far* has been that the vacuum cleaner quit working. And then the vacuum cleaner we bought to replace that one didn't work. But a quiet phone call to the roomie's mother just got a loaner vacuum delivered to our door. We generally have awesome friends.
( * Oh, and the room A/C in the movie room? It hasn't died. Yet. It's making noises, though. )
There will be a long-overdue post soon about movies.
throm,
moviegasm
