I managed to screw up this skirt so badly and I don't even know how I did it. There are these marks, called
notches (the link actually isn't how we do our notches professionally but it's the same idea), that tell you which pieces go together. You could have one notch and another pattern piece with one notch matches to it, but the piece with two notches doesn't match. All my notches line up, so I don't know what happened, but the
darts are in the wrong places and yet everything lines up...unless maybe the zipper is on the wrong side. I'll have to try it on my form and see...that would make the darts line up correctly I think. I can't fix it for two reasons: I am so exhausted and have other work to do and it's due tomorrow so I don't really have time (that's all one reason), and because I don't know what's wrong. I can't fix what I don't know how to.
Tomorrow I have to color in all my 30 sketches for my Carolina Herrera line, make an inspiration board for that line, attach all my fabrics into my sketchbook, and then I have to draw out and render my final twelve pieces. I am getting out of patternmaking as early as I can and hopefully I can get a tiny bit of sleep tomorrow night...I also have to do some work on my tree skirt if I manage to have any extra time tomorrow. Which I don't think I will. Actually, right now, I should find my best fashion figures so I can take them to the library and shrink them down on the copy machine tomorrow so I don't have to spend hours drawing new ones...
