Lately, I've spent a hell of a lot time thinking about what a gorgeous, gorgeous movie Clover would do. Seriously! It's already so very visual that the idea of it takes my breath away.
And then, this week, I sort of started tweaking with the 'movie trailer'. I mean, if the movie was made, then, how the trailer would be.
So here it is.
I'm such a dork.
Black screen. Then, birds chirping, and an instrumental version for 'Clover' starts here. And we see Kazuhiko's coat flaring before the camera moves away so that we can see him, lighting a cigarette.
KAZUHIKO: I won't do it.
GENERAL KO: You only have to deliver this package.
NARRATOR: Imagine a world in war, where everything is ruled by thought. A world where the greatest weapons are people with psychic abilities.
We see several scenes: we get a shot of this world, with dark gray skies and dirty buildings, soldiers getting their guns, a picture of the kid making the replicant birds and putting them inside their jails. A girl's mouth against a phone, and then a woman's mouth over another phone.
NARRATOR: Imagine a teenager with the power to destroy the whole world.
Several scenes, cut together: first we get a close up of glowing green eyes. Then we see wires and statues moving freely, attacking someone; Kazuhiko shooting; Ran at the computer, wires covering him; Oruha at the bar, singing; Borus laughing as he fights Kazuhiko.
Then, we get four shots of Clover tattoos: a one leaf tattoo placed on a woman's chest, quickly covered by a dress, two leaves on a wrist, where it's quickly hidden by gloves, three leaves over a shoulder where a hand covers it, and the four leaves, placed on the inside of a thigh, which disappears once a metal band is wrapped around that leg. We see Kazuhiko accepting a small hand in his own.
NARRATOR: What would such a girl wish for?
We see Oruha hugging Kazuhiko tightly, Ran looking out a window with a hand on his shoulder, Kazuhiko looking at the leaf code on his hand. And then we get to see Suu for the first time, as the camera zooms off her eyes, and we see her sitting on a branch of a a tree and then, her voice:
SUU: I want to be happy.
The music changes, flaring into 'O Fortuna' as a huge explosion covers the screen. We see Gingetsu and Borus fighting; Ran using his powers; Oruha singing; and Suu and Kazuhiko running as fast as they can. We see Suu screaming for Kazuhiko, stretching her hand as Kazuhiko falls down in slow-mo, his hand also stretched out. General Ko's voice breaks through the noise.
GENERAL KO: The Four Leaves Clover should always be alone.
Black screen and the music stops for a few seconds. We see a - real - blue bird flying away, and the bird lets something fall down on the ground, a four leaf clover
The camera makes a close up to the clover and we hear Suu's voice singing the last bars for 'Clover': 'take me to my happiness'. The title flares up on the screen.
“CLOVER”
