This is the kind of thing you just WISH had happened to Yuui and Fai... they're so sweet that they deserve some happiness... and Yuuri would be awesome, as usual.

Yuuri is the best dork-dad EVER. Everytime I see someone with a sad past/bad parents in any fandom, my knee-jerk reaction is 'YUURI WOULD MAKE IT BETTER'.

He needs to adopt a zillion kids.

I would love to see more of him as Fai and Yuui's father. And yes, Yuuri is one of the characters I want to hug and squish and take home as my pet George. Because OMG he's so sweet without crossing the line into annoying. And Wolfram is such a good mama.

I am highly tempted to write more of it, but I'm still trying to decide which approach to take (if I take the serious one, I do believe it means I need to make Kurogane's life even more miserable and I don't think I can do that, and if I take the 'happily ever after', I'd keep on trying to decide what happened to the TRC characters).

Iiii'm still not sure if I'll write more or not. I mean, I'm all for the 'let's make things better and FIX thinsg' Yuuri approach, but then there's this thing about the plot so.

Yeaaaah, there's that. And I mean, by exchanging Yuui and Fai, I do think it'd mean that, for this to work, I'd have to make things even more miserable for Kurogane. And I don't think I have it in me to do so.

See, I think that Clow knew Daikenja. Sort of BFF of the dark-haired type, back in the day. Clow kept in touch with Daikenja's reincarnations. And know it's Murata and Eriol who are the BFF. And of course Yuuko knows Murata. He's a megane-mysterious-Sage.

I'm so convinced that Daikenja and Clow were also BFF through Daikenja's reincarnations (and that Eriol and Murata keep on with that tradition) so yes, of course that Murata knows Yuuko. *grin*

And to this moment, I'm still not sure what kind of approach I want to take, if I do continue this. In one hand, it'd be interesting to see the group plus 'real' Fai there. In the other hand, I think it'd mean having to be mean(er) with Kurogane to balance, and I don't think I could bring myself to do that.

I absolutely love this. So, so perfect. And yes (its been said before but can never be said enough) Yuuri is the best DORK!Dad ever, and so needs to adopt every abandoned/abused child out there. Fai and Yuui have such a heartbreaking story that its nice to see them get a warmfuzzy alternate life.

As much as I would love to see what would happen once TRC kicks in in this AU, I agree that it would mean more sorrow for Kurogane as he fills the FWR!Pawn role. (Imladra wrote a lovely little ficlet where Yuuko, only able to interfere in the life of one, had to chose Fai or Kurogane to save) Though I'd love seeing the group land in Shin Makoku after going through FWR!pawn!Kurogane's version of the Celes arc with an injured Fai/Yuui who has just saved Kuro from himself ("Quick get Gesela!"). ("This is your dad? He only looks about 5 years older then you!")

Still, so glad you wrote this, it really is wonderful and sweet and fits everone so well.

I Know, it would be HORRIBLE for Kurogane. But in my little happy!verse a Fai(yuui) rasied by Yuuri would be strong and confidant and able to believe in the goodness in others enough to save Kurogane.

See, I've SERIOUSLY been thinking about it. And. See, in this 'verse? Kurogane goes to Taishakuten after his parents are killed. And he gets a spell/curse that makes him confuse the one who really killed his parents. And yes, Fai is stronger and more confident and just as mischievous, but he remains scared of something happening.

AND THEN SOMETHING HAPPENS. And Yuuri's injured and Yuui tells him to go and get help so that's how he meets everyone else. And they're traveling and they get to. Probably no Celes - Taishakuten lives in a lava castle and harsh mountains - but when it seems as if they won't be able to make it, Yuuri's magic help.

And then there IS the whole 'But they look so young' and.
