Wow, I drank a lot today. My navy friend invited me back to a bar he used to work at. We had a huge gathering with all these people I graduated high school with. Fortunately, I stopped drinking at the right time. There's the point at which you have one more drink and you'd be drunk, but w/o that drink it's just right and you have that pleasant buzz. I'd have to say that was the point I was at. I was so smooth, that the only thing my friend told me was that I was repeating myself too much -- a common thing among the drunk. Although I guess if I were really smooth, I would've been able to fool everybody else into believing I was completely sober. I tried a new drink too called the Blue Ferrari. I had a bit too much Heineken to remember exactly what it was, but it was of course blue, and the bartender lit it on fire before I drank it. It tasted sweet and sharp, like hard liquor but it was good. Well, it was a good night, even better than a few days agoat the casino. I hadn't planned on drinking too much, then I planned on drinking only beer, and then my friend bought me that drink. At least I knew when to stop. I think the only reason I got the drink is because my friend really wanted to see how a quiet guy like me would act drunk. Well, I was talking a lot more than I usually do, and it was pretty intelligent conversation besides the fact that I was repeating myself. At least, I was sober enough to remember that much.
Being there really got me thinking though -- man my friends have changed so much. I mean, one of them is younger than me and married! You know you're getting old when your friends are getting married. It turns out I'm the only one who's got a degree so far. Most of them got wrapped up in the party environment of school and whatnot so they haven't graduated. Sometimes, things like that can really make people more serious to study though as well. Another good friend of mine is working a part-time job that pays well and going through the same shit I am with my parents trying to get a "real" job. And another person I talked to is a self taught auto mechanic who started making a lot of money straight out of high school. Another guy there was a complete 180 from how he used to be -- he actually left early to study. His little sister was pretty cute and apparently she turned 21 recently, but she smokes. Why such a beautiful girl started smoking is beyond me. I remember her brother as being a belligerent drunk and a party animal. But one thing hasn't changed, he has a hot girlfriend. Damn, starting to think like my friend >_<.
Yeah, I know. Strange thing to end a journal entry on but that's really all I have to say. Good times, good people :). Till later!
