This Was Bound To Happen Sooner Or Later
Well, I knew this was going to happen. I specifically told my boss no more than 24 hours a week. So what does she do? She schedules me 29. When I approached her about it, she told me she's stepping down so she's no longer my boss. So what I did was write a polite letter asking my next boss to lower me down to twenty-four hours or less for this week. I waited two days, then wrote a reminder for them to do it. About an hour ago before I left work, I checked my schedule and nothing changed, so this is what I wrote:
Cut my hours down to twenty-four or less this week and every week thereafter. If my hours are not cut by Friday, then I will shorten my own hours and take Saturday off, regardless of the consequences.

My first two messages were polite. I'm sick of saying not to schedule me more then x hours and having them schedule me x+3 hours the next week. I've learned you get recognized by making threats so that's what I did. I think that's pretty nice of me considering most people just stop showing up to work when they quit. Needless to say, there's a good possibility I'm not going to be working at Meijer after Saturday. Two other people in my department will probably quit for similar reasons of being overscheduled -- the department is in anarchy and we're all taking advantage of it. Well, I'll update in here what happens so stay tuned for another episode of my livejournal!
